𝗔𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿. To reflect on our proudest moments and milestones, I created a special advent calendar that captures the essence of what we’ve achieved together—not just professionally, but as a family. This year has been about so much more than supporting company growth or maximizing profitability (though we’ve certainly done that too!). It’s been about building something truly meaningful: a team with a shared identity, strong core values, and deep personal connections. Some of the highlights we celebrated in our advent calendar include: - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 we’ve built: Off-site events played a huge role in this—days spent under the same roof cooking meals together, sharing personal stories, playing games, painting, doing sports, and, chatting and laughing around a fireplace getting to know each other deeply. These moments helped us form comraderie and create a true family. - 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀, 𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀: Together, we defined the foundation of who we are, identified our key activities and services, and embraced continuous improvement through problem-solving workshops to tackle challenges with innovation. - 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿: From supporting each other's development to stepping out of comfort zones, we’ve celebrated promotions, embraced a thriving feedback culture, and fostered growth in every corner of the team. - 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀: We’ve worked closely with key stakeholders in local operations, development, supply and trading, controlling, and beyond—collaborating and cooperating to build stronger partnerships and drive impactful results. We finish 2024 as more than a team—we are a family. Together, we’ve built a foundation of trust, purpose, and collaboration. As 2024 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on a year filled with milestones, challenges, and progress—both professionally and personally. At GoodLight Capital, we’ve made incredible strides in advancing our mission to invest in companies that are driving positive change. This year we welcomed innovative additions to our portfolio, including a financial platform revolutionizing financial literacy, and a trailblazer in early childhood education. These investments reflect our unwavering commitment to the trifecta of social impact, financial growth, and innovative solutions. I'm deeply grateful to our team, partners, and community for their dedication and belief in our vision. On a personal note, 2024 brought the immense joy of welcoming my daughter, Añjoli, into the world in March. She has been a source of inspiration, grounding me even further in the importance of creating a future that nurtures and uplifts the next generation. My daughter Soleil continues to thrive as a sophomore at Yale. She has spread her wings further as a multidisciplinary artist, having hosted several shows this year featuring her sculpting and short films. My son, Jacques-Maxime, continues to make us all proud excelling at math, science, languages, and music creation.  Sharing this journey with Anne-Christin Grimme has deepened my appreciation for the balance of ambition and mindfulness that guides everything we do, both at home and in our work through The Mindful Arts (https://lnkd.in/eqmQKMBp). As we step into 2025, I am filled with optimism and resolve. The challenges we face globally—from climate change to social inequity—are immense, but so is the collective power of communities coming together to create solutions. Well 2024 where do I even begin. We embarked on the adventure of a lifetime. Nine countries 🇦🇪 🇹🇭 🇱🇦 🇻🇳 🇲🇾 🇵🇭 🇮🇩 🇱🇰 🇹🇷 over 6 months and memories to last a lifetime. Whilst borne out of difficult circumstances, getting away in the way that we did was just our way of dealing with everything. We do love travelling after all ✈️ 🌍 It was not long before we were both back in full swing, struggling to find the balance I'm sure many struggle with: between parenting, being husband and Wife, work and everything in between. It's been a year of real highs, some lows and a LOT of adjustment. But it's taught me that if you want something enough, put your mind to it and make it happen whatever the cost, anything is possible. I would also like to take the time to thank all of our professional advisers for the trust they place in me, the team and the wider business to manage their clients wealth. Without you, none of what we have done would be possible so my heartfelt thanks goes out to each and everyone of you. We hope to continue to deliver exceptional service and great performance in 2025 and beyond and build on what are already incredibly strong professional relationships. 2025 already has some exciting things in store both professionally and personally. New acquisitions at Brooks Macdonald bring about lots of opportunities, with some foundations already being laid this year. Personally, we have two trips planned already (of course we do). Valencia 🇪🇸 in February and the picture postcard town of Kotor in Montenegro 🇲🇪 in April. There will be more, there's always room for more. As we wrap up 2024, it’s the perfect time for a little reflection, and those who know me well know that I am a big fan of that 😊. This year has been a blend of individual strengths coming together as one solid team. Each person brought their own flavor to the mix, and together, we’ve worked on some nice results and tackled some challenges. A big thank you to our impressive customers: for keeping us sharp, for challenging us and collaborating in the most open and transparent way. You made us better, and we feel we did the same for you. Here's to further pushing boundaries and making an impact together. 💪 While we take a moment to appreciate 2024, we can’t help but get excited about 2025!
