💡Do not set a revenue target for Black Friday, set a contribution profit target💡One of many great tips from Carla Penn-Kahn Simply increasing your cash flow and moving *any* inventory during Black Friday does not always = success for your business.
Black Friday should not equate to a sitewide sale unless you like to have less money in the bank to re-purchase core product 🤷♀️ Black Friday discounting strategies that do not impact core product profitability: 🥇 Discount seasonal and aging product only 🥈 Discount core lines ONLY if they are overstocked and you are in need of cash flow 🥉 Import a limited edition Black Friday range at a margin to support a deep discount Here's an important one, DO NOT set a revenue target for Black Friday. If you are chasing revenue, the likelihood of profitability is low. Set a CONTRIBUTION PROFIT target for Black Friday, this will help you to balance the goals of key stakeholders and the demand from customers to discount. What offer are you planning this Black Friday?

⚠️ Black Friday is on November 29th ⚠️ But is it really the ultimate money-saving event, or just a clever ploy to make us spend more? 🤔 Here’s the truth… Retailers often create urgency with "one-day-only" deals, but similar discounts happen throughout the year! 🗓️ Some retailers raise prices before Black Friday, only to "slash" them later for dramatic effect! 📈📉 Black Friday can be a great opportunity to save, but only if you’re buying things you genuinely need or planned to buy at full price anyway! ✅ Impulse buys? They don’t save you money, they waste it, because a 50% discount on something you don’t need isn’t a deal, it’s a loss! ❌ Are you buying anything this Black Friday? 💬

The truth they don’t want you to know about Black Friday deals⬇️⬇️ Black Friday isn’t the massive money-saving event they make it out to be—it’s a carefully planned strategy. Many retailers use a sneaky tactic called price anchoring, where they raise prices weeks before, just so they can slap a 'discount' sticker on it later. That 50% off? It’s often just the original price you could’ve paid last month. The real secret to shopping smarter? Use price trackers like CamelCamelCamel or Honey to see the price history of items before buying. Knowledge is power, babe, and it’s how you can avoid being tricked into buying things you don’t actually need (or saving less than you thought). This is a misunderstanding of how price elasticity works. Suppose you are spending 2x due to promotions. If the average promotion is 30% off, you now have 2.86x more stuff you won't share. And isn't that really the American dream? #blackfriday #priceelasticity
The data is showing me that... With every Black Friday purchase, you spend 100% more than you would without any Black Friday promotions. So you didn't save any money at all 🤷♀️ You actually spent money you wouldn't normally spend. This is why I'm choosing to walk away from every sale that entices me this weekend.

Black Friday comes this Friday- What type of shopper are you? Do you wait for Black Friday? Are the discounts always as good as they seem? Many retailers offer discounts that you may not see throughout the year. These discount opportunities can be great if you know you will be buying these products. However, be aware of inflated pricing- some companies can put up prices so the deals may not always be as good as they seem. Knowing the prices of things will be your best friend here! Black Friday can be a great time to score deals, but it’s not always the best for every purchase. Being strategic and informed will help you shop smarter and truly save money.

Kudos to Richer Sounds for a refreshing level of price transparency during Black Friday! 🖤 Nathan Kennaugh and team lay it straight for consumers... “Our Lowest Price Ever!” means exactly that - it's the lowest price they've ever offered for that item. “Fantastic Black Friday Value” means the item may have been cheaper in the past, but they’re confident it’s a great deal for today’s market. Their Price Beat promise is like a price match on steroids and is designed to reassure customers who are worried about finding a lower price elsewhere later in November. Transparency builds trust and trust builds loyalty! #pricing #BlackFriday #customerloyalty" Who are you seeing do Black Friday well and who is falling short?
