Inclusive recruitment is so very important, but before you even start to look at your recruitment process, you gotta make sure your workplace is inclusive. No point in having a really accessible recruitment and onboarding process, only for the candidate to sink as soon as they start the real work! I'll be talking at Superior Recruitment Group's HR Huddle about how to do just that. #Inclusion #Networking #Recruitment
Delighted to confirm Rosie Brighty as one of our guest speakers for our Teesside HR Huddle on September 18th, alongside Katie Woods-Ruddick. FCIPD and Katriina Makinen. Tickets available below: https://lnkd.in/efX-hwa9

Happy International HR Day 2024! This year’s IHR Day was observed on 20th May 2024. (1). To all my Seniors as well as my Colleagues in Human Resource Management (HRM), as we celebrate our profession, remember the incredible impact you have on shaping organisational culture for the achievement of corporate goals, and supporting employees. Be proud of yourselves. Let us embrace each other and collaborate as team members, invest in continuous learning, foster open communication, and lead with empathy. Be kind and take care of others and yourselves too. Together, we can create workplaces where everyone thrives and achieves their best. Keep inspiring and making a difference! (2). To Businesses Owners, CEOs, and Management, thank you so much to those who have been supportive. For everyone and going forward, remember to work well with your HRs, make your expectations of your HR to be very clear, and help them to deliver on their mandate. (3). To Employees, endeavour to work well with your HR and remember that they are also employees just like you so support them. Where HR may not deliver according to your expectations, engage them in a good way and make your desires known. Mention that HR you know and make them feel special. Over and above, let us all work together to create environments where employees feel valued and thrive. In the end we shall contribute to the achievement of the set corporate goals and development of our nations. At your service, Owen Katongo Kabanda (⬅️Click on the name to follow for more).

😊 On May 20th, International Human Resources Day is celebrated, a tradition also embraced by the DarbaGuru agency. In honour of this day, Kantar surveyed to determine the most common and important HR functions in companies and institutions in Latvia, how employees rate HR management at their workplace, and what the ideal HR manager's characteristics are. Here are four key insights from the survey that made us think: 🔸 Positive Evaluation: Two-thirds (65%) of employees in Latvia rate their company's HR functions positively, noting areas needing improvement. 🔸 Key HR Functions: The most frequent HR activities include employee evaluation, development, training, and workplace safety, each mentioned by 37% of respondents. 🔸 Insufficient Activities: Areas requiring more focus are employee motivation and loyalty programs (39%) and compensation issues (27%). 🔸 Ideal HR Leader Traits: Employees prefer HR leaders who are understanding, communicative, honest, and competent, emphasizing personal qualities over professional skills. If you face these challenges and want to listen to your employees, we invite you to contact us! Our team will gladly assist you!

** Happy International HR Day ** In honor of the Heroines and Heroes who tackle people management needs at our workspaces; Happy IHRD!! To a young upcoming HR practitioner: As you reflect on this beloved craft, a big conversation in the HR Profs' corridors is the insistent call to strengthen organizations to deliver through the acquired human capital despite the topsy turvy nature of work today. It may seem, and quite frankly, is a big mandate/ask but here's my take: It is now vital to learn as early on in your career to treat that Human Resources Services Office/Team/Department as a microcosm of the larger organization. As much as you work hard on standardizing efficiencies on the traditional HR transactional and functionality pieces that pass your desk at that level, also; get to understand the organization wholesomely, speak the dialect of the organization's business, master the art of how to speak on the data at hand smartly, support the business operations and be a leader agent of that desirable culture that speaks of optimizing performance to the top coterie at your workplace. Lastly, learn to occasionally remind yourself this question: what do you bring to the table?
