3000 Hearts, One beat On World Heart Day, Manipal Hospitals (MHEPL) in Bengaluru sets a new Guinness World Records with 3,319 people participating in a CPR relay single location/single location within 24 hours. ( A great team effort by Manipal Team) The message is simple: CPR saves lives. Don’t hesitate—learn the skill and be prepared- https://lnkd.in/g7d4c54M A month back Dr Hui Ling Tan shared her story how she helped save a life through CPR , she performed the CPR which she learnt a decade ago and corrected people who were doing CPR during an emergency on a street, it got me thinking, so the chances of needing to perform CPR may seem slim, but when it happens, it could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to save someone’s life. In today’s fast paced modern lifestyle- As stress levels rise and unhealthy lifestyles become more common, poor cardiovascular health makes us all more vulnerable. Knowing how to perform CPR correctly becomes even more important. Unfortunately, many people start CPR incorrectly, as seen in viral videos. The first step to saving lives is getting it right. Most of us may never face a scenario where someone collapses in front of us. But if it happens, what’s your first move? Call an ambulance? Check for a pulse? Start CPR? Proper training helps us act quickly and effectively, even in high-stress situations. Make it a habit to refresh your CPR skills each year. It could make all the difference when it matters most. #CPRSavesLives #Mission3K #WorldHeartDay #LearnCPR #ManipalHospitals #HeartHealth

👁️ National Eye Health Week - Vision Matters 👁️ Did you know that as an employer, the law states that it is your responsibility to arrange eye tests for display screen equipment users ? Here’s what you need to know: 💻 Who is eligible? Anyone using display screen equipment for more than an hour at a time during your work, is entitled to request an eye test. 👓 What do you need to provide? The cost of an eye test (Except in Scotland and the Isle of Man, where tests are already free.) The cost of basic lenses and frames if prescription glasses, specifically for screen work, are needed. 💡 Have you thought about providing eye care vouchers for employees? It could be a cost-effective and flexible way to meet your legal obligations. Are you aware of your wider responsibilities for DSE users including the risks and how to avoid these by safe working practices? As an employer you should tell users about the general arrangements you have made for their health and safety in DSE work and how they can apply for an eye test. We have a team of experts on hand who can help you to implement #eyecare and #WorkplaceWellbeing to help protect your team's vision. Drop us a message or call on 01522 275105 to discuss your needs and how we can help. #NationalEyeHealthWeek #VisionMatters 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dZsQwCnG

It’s #EMSWEEK2024! 50 years ago, a presidential proclamation called on the nation to support efforts to improve emergency medical care across the country. It also established the first national EMS Week, a tradition we proudly continue today. Much has changed since 1974, yet there is still much we can learn from those trailblazing professionals who helped EMS evolve into the sophisticated branch of medicine it is today. Their dedication, commitment and sacrifice inspire us to take bold steps of our own, to continue to seek out ways to better serve our patients and our communities. This year, we celebrate EMS Week by honoring our past—by taking a pause to recognize the contributions of each generation, the people who dreamed that we could save more lives and have less suffering, and then found ways to make it happen. EMS Week is never just about the past, however. It’s also about inspiring the EMS professionals just starting out and the young people who haven’t even discovered EMS yet! It’s about learning from the challenges and building on the successes of the last five decades. It’s about forging our future—a future in which the next generation has the tools they need to deliver compassionate care and alleviate suffering in communities everywhere. #insidemchd

A heartfelt appreciation for Dr. Sangita Reddy and her incredible leadership at Apollo Hospitals in driving impactful health initiatives like CPR training for high school students! Your collaboration with the American Heart Association is a so crucial for India’s heart health especially in today's era. In a country where 28% of all deaths are due to cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), the importance of teaching CPR cannot be stressed enough. Shockingly, only 2% of the Indian population is trained in CPR, even though timely intervention during a cardiac arrest can double or triple survival rates, according to data from the National Heart Institute. As Dr. Devi Shetty, a renowned cardiac surgeon, once said, "If CPR training were part of our education system, we could save thousands of lives each year." By equipping students with these life-saving skills, Apollo Hospitals is laying the groundwork for a more heart-safe India. Let’s spread this vital knowledge and create a culture where everyone is empowered to save lives! Together, we can reduce the impact of heart diseases and make a lasting change. #CPR #HeartHealth #LifeSavingSkills #WorldHeartDay #HealthcareInnovation #India
