Food insecurity affects every community in the U.S. Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap study is a powerful tool to understand local impact and take action. We can leverage this data to address factors impacting food insecurity and unite to ensure everyone has access to the food and resources we all need to thrive. Many of us have experienced hunger or know someone who has. When we listen to people facing hunger and use the study's findings, America can choose to end hunger. Whether it’s advocating for a strong farm bill or investing in our communities, it’s up to all of us to unite in our efforts to create a future where everyone has access to the nutritious food and resources we need to thrive. Even when we disagree, we can all agree on ending hunger. Hunger is a challenge we can overcome together. Join us on our #nutritionmission here at Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County by volunteering or donating so we can continue to provide nutritious food to our community. We are currently serving over 436,000 people per month on average, including 138,000 children and 86,000 seniors #wefeedOC #wefarmOC

Did you know the farmworkers who put food on our tables in the US face food insecurity and food apartheid? In Immokalee, Florida, despite cultivating a significant portion of America's winter produce, farmworkers experience hunger at disproportionate rates. This is where the incredible Cultivate Abundance steps in. The story of Cultivate Abundance's founders is remarkable. I was fortunate enough to hear it firsthand yesterday. Cultivate Abundance is a faith-based organization working to eliminate hunger and empower small-scale food production in Immokalee's migrant communities. They: -Grow and collect culturally preferred fruits and vegetables. (The workers are predominantly from the Caribbean and Central America) -Partner with local gardeners and organizations to maximize resources. -Share fresh produce with over 1,000 community members weekly. Their model of community-supported food security ensures farmworkers have access to the healthy food they deserve. Let's raise awareness for Cultivate Abundance's vital work! Learn more, donate, or even volunteer your time at Cultivate Abundance website>>>https://lnkd.in/eNT_m2Hb Every bit helps in the fight against hunger. #FoodJustice #CommunitySupport #CultivateAbundance

As Atmos Energy continues Fueling Safe and Thriving Communities, we are extremely proud to partner with these local food banks and further their mission in the areas we serve. The following food banks are among the local organizations Atmos Energy is supporting. • 6 Stones, Euless, TX $30,000 • CEC (Community Enrichment Center), North Richland Hills, TX $10,000 • Midwest Food Bank, Haltom City, TX $5,000 Hunger Action Month, a national campaign established by Feeding America in 2008, aims to educate the public about the widespread issue of hunger and encourage individuals, communities, and businesses to act by volunteering, donating, or advocating for policy change.
