At Onda, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Continuous facility improvement is reviewed regularly to create efficiencies that impact us both operationally and sustainably and in 2025 we will be bringing a recirculating aquaculture system to our Victoria facility. Previously, our trials required up to 260,000 litres of groundwater daily, but with RAS, we will reduce that to just 21,000 litres a day—a tenfold decrease! By reusing water more efficiently, we’re protecting this vital resource. This is an example of how innovation and commitment can make a tangible impact on the environment. We’re proud to be driving progress that supports both our clients and our planet. #CleanWaterandSanitation #SustainableAquaculture #BlueEconomy #RAS #GlobalImpact

According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) irrigated agriculture remains the largest user of water globally, accounting for 70% of fresh water use worldwide. With a growing population and more discerning diets demanding more calories and protein, and water availability being challenged by climate change, a strategic response to water management in agriculture is required. Martin Davies joins Jane Craigie's Science behind your Salad podcast to discuss how Nuveen prioritizes efficient water management to optimize water use across its farmland operations and to replenish over drafted aquifers. We Did the Math(s)! (Part 1) – 💧 98% Water Reuse saving >3m litres! 💧 Our innovative vertical lake system is designed with sustainability in mind, reusing a remarkable 98% of its water. This drastically reduces freshwater consumption compared to traditional aquaculture methods. Thanks to this closed-loop approach, we not only conserve vital water resources but also maintain optimal conditions for fish health and growth AND recycle all waste in to fertiliser. Here’s the big number: In just one year of our commercial pilot, we calculated that we’ve saved *3,285 cubic meters—that’s **3,285,000 litres* of water! Sustainability and efficiency in action. Stay tuned for Part 2 as we continue crunching the numbers driving our mission for sustainable aquaculture. #VerticalLake #HappyFish #SustainableAquaculture #Innovation #OrganicProtein

Looking forward to speaking in #DC next week at the World Resources Institute's Forest Governance and Policy annual Conference. Anyone I should meet? If you are there too, let's catch up! #forests #riskinformationalliance #policy
🚨 Just a few more days to go until the Forest Governance and Policy annual conference in Washington DC! We are excited to participate and co-organise a panel discussion on the Risk Information Alliance (RIA) with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Our Director of Market and Development, Sandra Razanamandranto, and Lead for Sustainability Advisory – North America, Jennifer Mleczko, will join FSC's Terry Campbell, Senior Expert in Chain of Custody, and Matteo Mascolo, Lead in EU Affairs & Engagement, as speakers. 🎤 Josh Taylor from ISEAL will facilitate the panel. 📝 Don’t miss out – register today: https://lnkd.in/ggmKtgf6 💡 A growing challenge faces actors across forestry and agricultural supply chains: a significant global gap in comprehensive, reliable, and up-to-date risk information. This makes it difficult for companies to make informed decisions for sustainable sourcing. Global sustainability organisations, including Forest Stewardship Council, Preferred by Nature, the The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB), and Sustainable Biomass Program, have joined forces to address this challenge via the RIA. 🤝 The Alliance will help facilitate the creation and maintenance of credible risk assessments with partners across commodities. 💼 The RIA benefits from funding from the ISEAL, which received generous support from the SECO Economic Cooperation and Development .
