February is Black History Month, a special time for honoring and celebrating the many achievements of Black Americans while acknowledging the challenges they face both past and present. Black investors in the U.S. hold more than $6 trillion of wealth, yet many are under-invested. Advisors can play a critical role in helping close that gap and reinforcing the continued growth of Black wealth and prosperity. BlackRock’s resources are designed to help advisors build authentic relationships with Black investors and earn their trust -> https://1blk.co/4bNStxl #BlackHistoryMonth #wealthmanagement #professionaldevelopment #financialadvisors

As we recognize and celebrate Black History Month throughout the month of February, we must remember that Black History is American History, and we must study and remember it always. There are many things we can do as a collective to ensure we’re bringing awareness, love, and light to the black community. Make it a personal goal to: • Use your platform to educate about black history, justice, and equality. • Follow up on the commitments and promises you made during the BLM protests. • Share a post from a black business owner in your community. • Support, shop, and recommend black businesses in your area. • Collaborate and work together with black businesses where you can. Let’s work together to be the change we want to see in our world.

On Tuesday the power-house that is Flavilla Fongang launched what is shaping up to be a project profoundly useful for the Black community and professionals at large. I've seen first hand the work and time she has personally invested here, so it's only right I share this with my Network. In Flavilla's own words... "BLACK RISE is here to bridge the opportunity gap for black talent in business. Black talent in business faces significant barriers to growth due to the absence of a robust ecosystem that facilitates connections, the sharing of knowledge and opportunities. This economic loss is estimated at $1.6 trillion in the US and 300 billion in the UK each year. So we built an AI powered business platform to help them reach their full potential by harnessing the power of the Black talent network." The total addressable market is $25 billion based of 650k B2B users and 71 million Black professionals outside of Africa." To follow the journey, give BLACK RISE and Flavilla Fongang a follow! 😉
CEO of Black Rise. International Keynote Speaker. 4x Founder with Branding & Marketing Psychology Expertise. UN Brand Partner

I'm delighted to let you know that BLACK RISE is finally opening its door to our waitlist. Throughout this week, you will receive an invitation via email. Look for this email to sign up. As we kick off Black History Month, we're reminded of the invaluable contributions, resilience, and cultural richness of the African American community. This month isn't just about looking back; it's about recognizing the journey, the struggles, and the ongoing pursuit of justice and equity. Although it is a time to celebrate, it is also crucial to acknowledge the disparities that persist in homeownership for Black Americans. Despite progress, Black homeownership rates in America still lag behind other groups, a reflection of historic injustices and discriminatory practices. Let's continue to advocate for fair housing policies, support initiatives that promote economic empowerment, and work towards a future where everyone has equal opportunities to achieve homeownership and financial security. Join us in honoring the past, celebrating the present, and shaping a more inclusive and equitable future for all. Together, we can make history. https://lnkd.in/gNB2aJ4G

PIE doesn’t just honor Black History Month. We put our money where our mouths are. This isn’t a post to brag, but to show just how easy it is to really be inclusive. - Our preferred providers of pies are Black-owned, local businesses - We celebrate Black excellence by seeking melanated speakers and educators FIRST … and then **paying them** for their efforts - PIE has directed dozens of hours of FREE professional speaking coaching to rising melanated experts who want to polish their message before presenting - We maintain connections to organizations like state Black Chambers of Commerce, where we collaborate with leaders by providing time and resources to improve access to government work for Black-owned businesses PIE is a community in which historically excluded groups are not only celebrated, but CENTERED. We say this because our community IS BETTER for choosing to be inclusive. We still have opportunities to improve, and we are always open to critique and improving our practice. We also believe that the best voices, products, and information comes from fairly compensated, historically excluded speakers who are put at the front of the line. We’re tired of hearing from folks who have always been in charge, because leading a broken system doesn’t mean you know what you’re doing. It’s our honor to participate in Black History Month by focusing on Black providers every day of the year. Your business could do it, too.

As Black History Month draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the profound impact it has had on our collective consciousness. This month serves as a poignant reminder of the resilience, strength, and immeasurable contributions of Black individuals throughout history. It's a time to honor the trailblazers who fought tirelessly for justice, equality, and freedom in the face of adversity and oppression. From activists and artists to scientists and leaders, their legacies continue to inspire generations, reshaping the narrative of our shared history and shaping a more inclusive future. As we bid farewell to Black History Month, let us carry forward the spirit of recognition, appreciation, and celebration beyond the confines of these 29 days (shoutout to leap year). Let us commit ourselves to ongoing education, empathy, and allyship in the fight against systemic racism and injustice. May we amplify Black voices, support Black-owned businesses, and champion diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our lives. By acknowledging the past, we honor the present, and pave the way for a brighter, more equitable tomorrow for all.

Welcome to Black History Month 🥳 As we celebrate the contributions of Black Americans to our country's history, it's important to ask ourselves: Is our organization doing its part to recognize and honor this important month? Take a look at your organization's landing page. Is Black History Month mentioned? Are there plans for tactful celebrations or content to support this month? But it's not just about one month out of the year. Is your work culture inclusive and intentional 365? We must strive to create a workplace that values diversity and promotes equity every day. Remember, Black History is American History 🖤❤️💛💚. So let's all take the time to reflect on the contributions of Black Americans and celebrate their achievements. How is your organization celebrating Black History Month? Let's make sure we're standing on the right side of history. If we’re not standing on the right side of business, then we’re stand’N on Monkey Bidness!
