Recap of year 3 with linens! Year 1 — we had so many stains and issues. Thousands of dollars spent and the laundry company could not get the stains out. Year 2— we spent more money for stain treatments and at the end of the event season we still had stains & we lost money on linens due to high costs of cleaning and waste. Year 3 — sales is rocking and linens are flying off the shelves. I decide I am going to personally bring them home after each event and clean them myself. That meant setting an alarm and getting up every hour all night to swap them and get them done. Results: zero stains and zero complaints. We saved an average of $800 per week on cleaning fees. I used that $ to give our summer help a raise and bonuses throughout the season. We kept the snack fridge stocked and coolers packed for the guys everyday. I was able to have less waste as more cloths were cleaned and not destroyed by laundromat. Our clients were very happy. It’s the old adage “if you want something done right do it yourself” We hit record sales numbers, had almost zero employee turnover, and had no customer complaints (with linens) I am now planning on how we handle next year. I can’t work 24/7 next season doing linens all night.
