Last night I DJ a private Halloween Costume Party in Oley Pennsylvania. It made think that Halloween is more than just costumes and candy. It’s a time to unleash creativity, build community, and embrace a little fun in our professional lives! Whether you’re decorating your workspace, hosting a virtual costume contest, or swapping spooky stories during coffee breaks, there’s something about this season that brings teams closer together. But beyond the fun, Halloween reminds us that stepping out of our comfort zones and taking risks (even if it’s just for a costume) can spark innovation and new ideas. Just like choosing a bold costume, sometimes we need to make daring moves in our work to discover fresh opportunities. How are you celebrating Halloween at your workplace this year? Costumes? Deep Cleaning and Organizing with Kids! While kids can't necessarily deep clean yet, they can absolutely help with the smaller tasks like dusting, wiping down surfaces, and even sweeping. And organizing is no different! Make it a game! Here's an example: a kid's bookshelf. 1: Have them wipe down the shelves after all the books have been removed 2: While you're deep cleaning it, have your kids organize the books on the floor in whatever way seems fun (by color, by kid, or by level are some examples) 3: Once the shelf is ready, help them put the books back on in the order they've selected.
