As part of my 2024 Boston Marathon fundraising, I am doing Superbowl squares! I am running on behalf of Best Buddies - a non-profit dedicated to creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The buy-in for each square is $25, which you can Venmo me, @Carleigh-Leyman ! Basic rules are as follows: Once all the squares have been selected, we will randomly pick numbers from 0-9 for each team in the Super Bowl, and assign that number to a particular row or column. These numbers represent the last number in the score of each team. In other words, if the score is AFC 17 - NFC 14, then the winning square is the one with an AFC number of 7, and an NFC number of 4. Winnings Breakdown for Squares End of 1st Quarter: 10% End of 2nd Quarter: 10% End of 3rd Quarter: 10% End of Game: 20% Payout to Charity: 50% To join, use my link here: https://lnkd.in/ezAwvvet

One of the victims of moving to a more cashless society in the past has been charitable organizations that rely on people’s generosity during in-person donation opportunities.🤲There are many people who simply just don’t like carrying cash with them. For the past few years, we’ve been following the progress of Canadian startup tiptap as they’ve grown from a conversation-starting curiosity, to a fixture on many national charitable campaigns, and not-for-profit institutions. Al has a sit-down with tip tap Director of Sales Mark Jordan to talk about a couple of these national campaigns The Poppy Campaign and The Red Kettle Campaign to learn how tip tap has helped them bridge the cashless gap. 🎧 Listen now: http://spr.ly/6048SiQDr

Last week, my wife, Sima Acharya, turned the table and interviewed me on beyond MD. Sima asked me insightful questions. One in particular was - what concepts have I learned about through the pod and put into action? Charitable giving is one. This is a topic Sima and I try to talk about on a more regular basis. The most beautiful thing has happened as a result, our kids are leaning into this conversation as well and finding their own ways to give back. Knowledge is power, and putting it into action can be gratifying for the entire family. #beyondmd #financialwellness #family #charity

Are you facing the uphill battle of securing adequate funding for your organization? The struggle is real, and the numbers speak volumes. Did you know that 52% of Americans say public funding would have the biggest impact on youth and school sports? The more young people we’re able to get into physical activities, the better. However, youth sports can get expensive, especially for large families. Operational expenses such as facilities, equipment, and insurance can often exceed the revenue generated from player registration fees, creating a significant funding gap. Many youth sports organizations rely on additional sources of funding, such as donations, sponsorships, and grants, to sustain their programs and support their mission of serving young athletes. At Jersey Watch, we're passionate about empowering non-profit youth sports leaders to overcome financial hurdles and create thriving communities through sports. That's why we're thrilled to share our latest resource on youth sports fundraising. In this comprehensive guide, we delve into the various avenues for securing donations, from corporate sponsorships to grassroots campaigns. But we don't stop there. We also provide actionable tips on how to maximize your fundraising efforts and showcase the tangible impact that donations can have on your organization's success. Check out our blog post and let's work together to make a difference in the lives of young athletes everywhere! https://buff.ly/3UVfKHO #youthsports #fundraising #onlinedonations #youthsportstips #jerseywatch

Something happened this year at Bikes for Kids WI, the floodgates opened and we saw a steady stream of people in need of low-cost transportation who were unable to afford bikes on their own, more than ever before. The 2,500 bikes we've given away in 2024 have been distributed to all people in need, not just kids. Giving bikes to kids under the age of 11 is a critical part of our work because, if you don't have a bike as a kid, you won't have one as an adult. Beyond age 11, kids are often too embarrassed to learn to ride and they become focused on cars as transportation although they've yet to learn how expensive it is to own a car as those costs go far beyond the initial price of the vehicle. And yes, kids do use their bikes for economic mobility. Kids are often eager to work but when you're too young to drive, a bike provides access to those opportunities. They also help kids get to school and they reduce truancy for many of the kids we serve. Bikes provide access to opportunities. They are so much more than just a recreational option for the people we serve--they are a lifeline. Operation Fresh Start became a new distribution partner for us this year and that's how we connected to Calio and King, the two boys who helped us reach the new milestone of 2,500 bikes given away in 2024. I'll drop a photo of the boys and their bikes in the comments. You will love seeing those smiles! 😊 #transportation #economicmobility #independence #freedom #opportunities #healthyfamilies #healthykids
We just reached a new milestone in 2024—we have now distributed 2,500 bicycles this year alone. That puts our total since 2017 to 12,500 bicycles distributed to financially challenged people in the state of Wisconsin. 💥 If you would like to support our work, you can make a financial donation at bikesforkidswi.org or you can volunteer with us here at the bike center. Thank you to all our donors, community partners, and volunteers who’ve helped make this work possible.
