As a vegan for the last seven years, I am happy to see food leaders embrace plant-based diets! 🌱 A National Trust spokesman said: "The planet can't sustain billions of meat-eaters. Moving towards a majority plant-based food system would allow more than 70% of farmland to be freed for nature restoration, a change that would capture massive amounts of carbon and increase biodiversity while still providing enough nutritious food for our growing population." 🌍 #vegan #plantbased #sustainability #climatechange

All my work is strictly vegan. I use the following equations for my projects: - \( f{\text{dim}(x)}|x=y \) - \( f{\text{dim}(x)}|x÷x=y \) - \( f{\text{dim}(x)}|x \geq \infty \) I strongly advocate for veganism and aim to halt the systematic genocide of animals. Replacing zoos with natural habitats is crucial for ensuring the sustenance and freedom of all beings. These practices are part of the broader injustices being perpetrated. Envision a "Soyscraper"—an indoor farming marvel designed for a sustainable future. Imagine vertical soybean fields thriving in optimized environments. Each level represents a technological advancement, ensuring food security during floods and keeping harvests safe and plentiful. The Soyscraper symbolizes resilience and progress, offering hope for global food security. #Vegan #Blizzard #Activision Veganuary Deutschland Vegan Hacktivists Vegangster Vegan Love Veganuary Vegan Express Vegan Recipes

The The Vegan Society recent declaration that cultivated meat is not vegan might seem like a setback, but I'd argue it’s actually a blessing in disguise. Why? Because vegans are not the target audience for cultivated meat. Meat eaters are. Cultivated meat aims to tackle the immense challenges of climate change, animal welfare, and public health by offering a sustainable alternative to conventional meat. While vegans are already contributing to these goals through plant-based diets, the real opportunity lies in converting traditional meat eaters. This is where cellular agriculture can make a profound impact. The reality is that our global food system needs a massive overhaul to feed a growing population sustainably. Diversifying protein sources—especially for meat eaters—is essential. Vegans are already embracing alternatives like plant-based and microbial proteins. Cultivated meat is a bridge for the rest. Instead of debating its alignment with vegan principles, we should focus on bringing this innovation to the mainstream through consumer education, scaling production and increasing affordability. https://lnkd.in/dkSyAfZE #CultivatedMeat #Sustainability #FoodInnovation #AlternativeProteins #ClimateAction

Despite a decline in meat consumption among certain groups, many customers still prefer to have meat options available when dining out. To promote a more sustainable food industry, it is crucial for future menus to reconsider the types of meat used, the portion sizes, and waste reduction strategies, and to prioritise sourcing from suppliers that adhere to high animal welfare standards and actively work to combat issues like deforestation linked to meat production. While it is challenging to predict the trajectory of food trends, the rise of vegetarianism and veganism is noticeable, although these groups remain a minority. Price will undoubtedly influence choices, but there is a growing perception that the younger generation will drive the shift towards reduced meat consumption. Meat will continue to feature on menus, albeit in a more complementary role. For instance, incorporating beans, pulses, or vegetables alongside meat rather than eliminating it entirely – as seen in our popular beef and butterbean burger – offers a cost-effective and sustainable approach. #lessmeat #menus #vegetables #beans #pulses

Veganism stands as the best choice in every aspect—health, ethics, and the environment. 💚✅🌱🌍 A plant-based lifestyle offers balanced nutrition without the cholesterol and hormones found in animal products, reducing the risk of many chronic diseases. Ethically, veganism avoids exploiting animals for food, clothing, or entertainment, recognizing their right to live free from harm. It’s a step toward a more humane world where all beings are respected. Environmentally, the benefits are undeniable. Animal agriculture is a leading cause of deforestation, water pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions. Switching to a vegan lifestyle significantly reduces your carbon footprint, conserves water, and helps combat climate change. Veganism isn’t just a diet—it’s a conscious way of living that aligns with values of fairness and sustainability. Choosing vegan is choosing a better future for animals, the planet, and ourselves. #govegan #veganisbest #sustainableliving #ethicalchoices #stopanimalexploitation #plantbasedliving #healthylifestyle #veganawareness #endcruelty #respectallbeings

We often hear that eating local is best for the planet, but is that always true? What if your local steak🥩actually has a bigger carbon footprint than those avocados🥑shipped from across the globe? It's a head-scratcher that challenges what we thought we knew about food and sustainability. Watch now🔗:https://lnkd.in/dnriBCcQ How much does transportation really matter compared to what we're eating? Can a veggie burger made from globally-sourced ingredients be gentler on Mother Earth than a locally raised chicken? It's not just about the journey our food takes, but the whole story behind how it's produced. Maybe it's time we take a fresh look at our meals and ask ourselves - are we really eating as green as we think?👀 In this episode of #SustainableTeaWithShreya🎙️, Plant Based News co-founder and The Freedom Food Alliance founder, Robbie Lockie🚦, and🌏 Shreya Ghodawat Ⓥ talk about the myth of local meat being more sustainable than imported plant foods, the hidden environmental costs of animal agriculture vs. plant-based diets, and rethinking food sustainability beyond just transportation miles. #Vegan #Plantbased #ClimateAction #MeatFree #AnimalRights #EatLocal #CarbonFootprint #MethaneEmissions #SustainableEating #ReduceEmissions #PlantPowered #AnimalAgriculture #GoVegan #Transport #LocalVsGlobal #Carbon #PlantbasedProtein #Nature #EthicalEating #Awareness #ConsciousConsumption #EcoFriendlyChoices

Today is World Vegan Day, celebrating the positive impact of veganism on the planet 🌏, animals 🐄 🐓🐖, and human health 🩺 as well as encouraging people to explore and embrace a vegan lifestyle. Vegans abstain from the use of animal products for food 🍝, clothing 👚👖👗👔👢, or any other purpose and hold the principles of cruelty-free living, ethical treatment of animals, and environmental sustainability. There is a huge environmental cost of industrialised 🏭animal farming. Meat and dairy account for 11.2% of manmade greenhouse gas emissions and consumes more water 💧🌊 than any other global industry- 70% of global water use. It takes 460 gallons of water to make one ¼ lb beef patty for a burger 🍔, the equivalent of 23 showers🚿! But, if we all went vegan, scientists believe the world’s food-related emissions could drop by 68% within 15 years, limiting global warming. Fewer animal products = fewer greenhouse gasses which = a better planet + healthier humans. #Rediscovering #Sustainable Eating: A gift from Our Ancestors In our fast-paced world, it's easy to forget the #sustainable eating practices of our ancestors. They cultivated a culture of healthy eating, knowing exactly where their food came from and how it was prepared. This connection not only nourished their bodies but also fostered a deep respect for the Earth. #The Legacy of #Sustainable Eating Historically, our ancestors grew their own vegetables, raised livestock, and foraged for wild edibles. This hands-on approach ensured they consumed fresh, #seasonal produce while promoting community and environmental stewardship. #Indigenous cultures often practiced #permaculture, which harmonized with nature, preserving the land for future generations. #The Cost of Convenience Today, convenience reigns supreme. Fast food and processed meals have become staples in our diets, leading to a rise in health issues like obesity, diabetes and cancer. According to the World Health Organization, poor dietary choices are a significant contributor to these problems. Additionally, industrial agriculture has a detrimental impact on the environment, from deforestation & #nutrientstripping to greenhouse gas emissions. #A Simple Solution The good news is that we can return to our roots by asking simple questions: 1. Where was your food grown? 2. How was it prepared? These inquiries empower us to make informed choices and reconnect with our food sources. At Golden Grass, we prioritize #transparency and #sustainability. Our focus on #clean #labels and #natural ingredients surced from their true origin allows you to enjoy healthy meals without sacrificing convenience. You can trust that you’re making choices that benefit both your health and the environment. #A Hopeful Future Let’s hope the fast-food culture is just a fleeting trend. By embracing the wisdom of our ancestors and valuing sustainable practices, we can pave the way for a #healthier future. Join us at Golden Grass as we revive the tradition of #mindful eating. Together, we can make choices that nourish our bodies and respect the planet. #GoldenGrass #Provenance #CleanLabel #Taste #Natural #farmers #Healthy
