Cross Con – The International Cross Innovation Conference Cross Innovation – using artistic tools and methods in industry, business, or public administration – can bring about substantial societal change when implemented. However, so far, we have mainly been talking about cross innovation, exploring it from a theoretical/academic perspective. We believe the time has come to start doing, to implement concrete projects on a larger scale. To make cross innovation a standard and unavoidable part of the innovation operations of any company or public body. Cross innovation happens when competencies from cultural and creative sectors are applied in other industries to drive development. Society faces significant challenges like rapid climate change and increasing demands for sustainability. Far too often, current innovation structures rely on outdated methods that aren’t designed to address today’s problems. The demand for alternative and resource-efficient innovation systems is greater than ever before. Cross Con is the international conference for cross innovation, held in Botkyrka, just south of Stockholm, Sweden. In November 2023, we brought together some of Europe’s leading experts in cross innovation, with a primary focus on stage presentations. This year, we want to involve you – the participants – in an unprecedented way. In a learning-by-doing concept, we will introduce collaborations, workshops, matchmaking, presentations, and role-playing into a cross-sector melting pot of heterogeneous innovation. For 12 hours, we will dive deep into the “how-to” of cross innovation, supported by meals, sweets, drinks, and coffee. Expect breathtaking breakout sessions, disruptive keynote games, and a fully-fledged dinner. For whom? Engineers, musicians, bankers, circus artists, developers, potters, innovation managers, actors, CEOs, writers, assistant professors, designers, principals, comic artists, procurement specialists, and similar professions. My goal is to solve a simple problem: how can everyone participate in open innovation. Obviously, I will not be the one to solve this problem, but I hope to move the world in this direction a little bit. And I need to focus on solving problems like this to stay motivated. I solved the easy first part - we made the open innovation platform software which is cheap, easy, fast, works for everyone. I'm looking for you!🎊🎊 I'm looking for individuals as passionate as I am about transforming communities to work with me to empower as many women as we can in rural areas financially, business development wise and skill development. This is the first time you're going to hear someone say I'm not looking for Investors, I'm not looking for Companies and organizations to work with, I'm just looking for passionate individuals to take the journey with me. I have made several efforts to found companies and I can tell you that the goal for any was to be Investor ready but for this Project EFE from day one my goal was to use the skills I have learnt, the knowledge I know, the connections I have built to give a hand to 10 or 20 women in my village with no goals of making pitch decks to anyone because I know I have within me exactly what most men don't have and I believe that sharing just that with them is enough! So I'm looking for individuals that feel this same urge to give back to communicate, the urge to use your own resources, knowledge and skills to uplift someone who is probably having a midlife crisis and they have lost hope of ever becoming anything for themselves, their families and the people they love. 📌 Empowering women transforms communities. 📌 EFE's mission ( a project I found) Empowering women financially, utilizing their skills, talents and Knowledge for sustainable businesses 📌 Problem being solved by EFE: Gendered Division of Labor. Rural women especially face disproportionate challenges. 📌 Impact: Limits economic opportunities, increases vulnerability to violence. 📌 Challenges : Limited access to education, Healthcare, decision making 📌 Statistics: Women make up to 51% of rural population, earn less than men 📌 Unpaid work: Women in rural areas spend more time on care and domestic tasks than men. 📌 Urgency of addressing gendered division of labor: Impacts Economic growth, Perpetuates stereotypes, affects family dynamics. 📌 Economic Implications: Women's Participation in workforce linked higher to growth and Productivity. 📌 Societal Impact : Challenges traditional norms, promotes inclusivity 📌 Vision : Empowered women in rural areas contributing meaningfully to economy 📌 Conclusion: Investing in women's empowerment is vital for societal and economic progress. 🏆 As part of the implementation of the TISC project in Ukraine, IP office continued to establish TISCs throughout 2023 based at higher education institutions, research organizations, and other innovation entities: ◽ The expansion of the TISC network through the creation of regional TISCs at libraries, scientific and technical information centers, chambers of commerce and industry, innovation and technology centers, technology transfer centers, science and industrial parks, intellectual property centers, design bureaus, public organizations, and others. ◽ As of the post’s publication date, 41 TISCs are operational, with 16 opened in 2023 and 11 since the beginning of 2024. ◽ A total of 22 consultations were provided on innovation activities, project creation, IP rights commercialization, and technology transfer, indicating the community's interest in innovation development. ◽ Regional TISCs in Ukraine responded to 704 user inquiries throughout 2023. ◽ Enhanced cooperation with WIPO TISC continues through joint events, involving their representatives in IP office events, participation of TISC Ukraine network representatives in WIPO TISC events, experience exchange, and skills development for members of the TISC network in Ukraine. ◽ A collaboration concept with TISCs from other countries has been developed, focusing on experience exchange, capacity building of Ukrainian representatives through internships, participation in international projects, forming a speaker base for TISC events, involving international partners in projects in Ukraine, and organizing joint events such as training sessions and conferences. ◽ In 2023, 58 educational events were organized and held (thematic workshops, training sessions, business forums, innovation festivals, startup competitions, ideathons, and hackathons). ◽ A range of informational and analytical products was created and distributed, including information briefs on TISC services, network operations, WIPO digital platforms and tools, IP management, and technology transfer. Analytical materials were developed to support inventors, innovators, and startups with practical issues in innovation and startup development. ◽ Two projects were launched and conducted to develop the skills of TISC representatives in working with WIPO’s ASPI and ARDI databases.
