Buchan Offshore Wind is pleased to announce the renewal and extension of its support for Turning the Plastic Tide (TTPT), an important initiative managed by the East Grampian Coastal Partnership. This project aims to promote and coordinate community beach cleans, train volunteer organisers, and develop a sustainable network of trained volunteers to ensure ongoing beach clean efforts. In addition to organising logistics, including equipment and disposal containers, TTPT is focused on creating a network of beach clean kits for volunteer groups to utilise. Last year, the Buchan Offshore Wind team joined forces with volunteers from Balfour Beatty plc to successfully remove 1,620 kg of waste from Rattray Head beach, highlighting the positive impact of community engagement in environmental conservation. For more information on TTPT and how you can support this important project, please visit: https://www.egcp.scot/ttpt

🌿 Happy Canadian Environment Week from K+S Potash Canada! 🌍 As we celebrate Canada's environmental accomplishments, we're proud to share our ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. At KSPC, we consider the full lifecycle of our facilities, striving for sustainable, future-oriented development while protecting the local environment. Here's a glimpse into our efforts: 🌱 Biodiversity Champions: In the prairie grasslands ecoregion at the Bethune Mine Site, we're dedicated to biodiversity. From on-site construction monitoring to ongoing tracking and mitigating, we're fostering a rich habitat for diverse vegetation and wildlife. 💧 Water, Our Precious Resource: We recognize the value of water for the environment, biodiversity, and local activities. Our meticulous water management includes monitoring water quality, consumption, and implementing measures to minimize our impact. 🌊 Waste & Tailings Management: Protecting the environment is at the core of our waste and tailings management. Our engineered tailings storage facility is closely monitored for safety, with ongoing construction of a slurry wall to enhance environmental protection. The Bethune Facility has a comprehensive decommissioning and reclamation plan for end-of-life mine planning. 🔄 Sustainable Waste Practices: Our waste management plan encourages segregation and recycling. We track recyclable waste streams like paper, cardboard, clean wood, metals, electronics, and batteries, ensuring responsible disposal. As we reflect on Canadian Environment Week, we're proud of our ongoing efforts to contribute to a greener, healthier planet. Join us in embracing sustainability and protecting our environment for future generations! 🌎💚 #EnviroWeek #Sustainability #KSPCcares 🍃

Today, on 🌊 World Water Day 🌊, we mark a year since the UN launched efforts to meet water-related goals in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Xploration Coastline Concept, endorsed by the UN, stands out for its open innovation, social engagement, and innovative financing, redefining water as a common resource. It's not just a product or service but a comprehensive approach, driven by a mission to address challenges and share insights. Maintaining engagement from diverse stakeholders requires focus and energy, but it's essential for these inclusive initiatives. Read more about The Xploration Coastline Concept here --> https://lnkd.in/e4djVZpr As an active and independent platform with a mission, we (Platform Future Islands) want to accelerate the sustainability of the Dutch Caribbean. We do this by developing and sharing knowledge, communicating inspiring examples and hosting events to connect people and organizations.
