Strawberry volume grew by 11% year-over-year, with a 60% share of berry category volume and a 43% share of dollar sales, contributing an additional $235.9 million in sales. Conventional strawberries dominated, but organic strawberries saw a 12% growth. Promotions played a key role, with over half of the volume sold at a 26% discount, boosting sales by 43%. The peak season (April-July) saw over 652 million pounds sold, generating $1.7 billion.
