Today we announce Lieutenant General (ret.) Ross Coffman steps into the role of President of Forward Edge-AI, Inc. As the former deputy commanding general of the United States Army Futures Command, Ross brings to Forward Edge-AI more than 35 years of military experience focused on ensuring the Army and its soldiers are at the forefront of technological innovation against near peer competitors. During his military career, Ross served at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels in the United States and overseas. He served as the director of the Next Generation Combat Vehicles Cross Functional Team, and as the deputy commanding general for maneuver in the 1st Infantry Division, a storied Army formation known as “The Big Red One.” Ross is known for his passion for innovation and building the next generation of leaders. As President, Ross is now responsible for implementing Forward Edge-AI’s vision to bring Artificial Intelligence to the Forward and Humanitarian edge. Check out our new leadership team here: https://lnkd.in/gn5NgeXv

In his role, he advises Mr. Holland on strategic and commercial matters, as well as Amaero’s engagement with the U.S. government, Department of Defense, defense prime contractors and the broader defense industrial base ecosystem. McMaster retired from the military in June 2018 after serving as the 25th assistant to the U.S. President for the Department of National Security Affairs. Upon graduating from U.S. Military Academy in 1984, McMaster served as a commissioned officer for 34 years. From 2014-2017, McMaster designed the future army as the director of Army Capabilities Integration Center and the deputy commanding general of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. McMaster is the Fouad and Michelle Ajami Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, the Bernard and Susan Liautaud Fellow at Freeman Spogli Institute and lecturer at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. He is a distinguished visiting fellow at Arizona State University. He holds a PhD in military history from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
