Is this surprising? Random Observation: In the recent US elections here are the final numbers (1% of the vote still to be counted). Of all eligible voters: 31% voted for Trump 30% voted for Harris 1% voted for third party or other a whopping 38% of eligible voters simply did not vote! Said another way 69% of eligible voters in the US did not vote for Trump (either by not voting at all or by voting for someone other than Trump) What the What What. What does this mean for democracy in America? BTW - it has been this way for decades whether it's a Democrat or Republican winning. What is going on here? Why are so many eligible voters simply not voting?

Utah has a layered partisan landscape. In 2020, 61% of voters voted Republican in national and statewide elections. However, 53% of voters are registered as Republicans, and only 36% of voters self-identify with the Republican party. Read more in our Bridging Gaps: The Issues that Unite

#RankedChoiceVoting allows voters to rank the candidates in order of preference. If no candidate wins a majority of first choices, an instant runoff is triggered. Voters only have to show up once, and taxpayers only have to fund one election. https://lnkd.in/e9WA6v7u
