Hydrogen: The Driving Force of Sustainable Mobility!    In the past few weeks, our Teams had the opportunity to attend two major industry events: IAA Transportation in Hannover and InnoTrans in Berlin. These flagship trade shows were a showcase for advancements and trends in hydrogen technology. Here are the key insights we gathered:   Hydrogen as a pillar of decarbonization: many players highlighted hydrogen propulsion solutions for trucks, buses, and trains, proving that hydrogen is becoming an alternative to fossil fuels for heavy-duty and long-distance transportation. HYVIA presented its hydrogen-powered Renault Master Van H2-TECH, a zero-emission light commercial vehicle equipped with an OPmobility high pressure storage system at 700 bars.    Innovations at every stage of the value chain: whether in production, storage, or distribution, innovations are flourishing. EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies GmbH unveiled the new NM20 stack module. Delivering up to 400 kW, and state-of-the-art durability and power density, it will meet the needs of heavy-duty and commercial vehicles, making zero-emission transport more efficient.   Growing interest in the rail sector: while road transport is often at the forefront, the rail sector is also embracing hydrogen. Hydrogen trains from our main Partners in this sector, Alstom, Stadler, and CRRC Corporation Ltd., are already in service paving the way for the rapid decarbonization of non-electrified lines.   👉 Hydrogen is clearly becoming one of the keys to the energy transition for Commercial transportation, turning now into a reality.   #AlwaysOnTheMove

Nearly 90% of new car sales in Norway were electric, and they are on track to achieve zero-emission transportation by 2025! ⚡🚘 This made me rethink what’s possible when a nation commits to sustainability. It’s truly inspiring to see how such efforts can drive significant change toward a greener future. How did they do it? *Strong Incentives and Subsidies: Since the 1990s, Norway has offered zero registration tax, free tolls, free parking, and zero VAT on EVs, making EVs more affordable and attractive than conventional cars. *Robust Charging Infrastructure: Early investments in EV charging infrastructure created a comprehensive network. Norway's reliance on hydropower ensures a renewable and cheap energy source for EVs. *Availability of EV Models: The availability of popular EV models significantly boosted the rate of sales. However, as we embrace electric vehicles, it's crucial to address the environmental impact of lithium battery disposal. The discharge from these batteries can be harmful, but innovative solutions are emerging for recycling and safe decomposition. Time and technology together will bring solutions to these challenges, ensuring sustainability doesn't come at another environmental cost. It’s thrilling to see how these advancements will revolutionize the industry! 🔌 Spotlight on Mega Watt Charging 🔌 I had the fantastic opportunity to catch up with my former colleague and good buddy, Roel, right in front of the Heliox/Siemens Energy MCS charger— an impressive display of robust technology. It’s inspiring to witness the impact that MCS can have on the efficiency and scalability of charging solutions for heavy-duty vehicles. We have won a prestigious order from the French market in recent days. Our company will deliver eight articulated hydrogen buses to the city of Belfort. The vehicles were purchased by the public entity Syndicat Mixte des Transports en Commun du Territoire de Belfort (SMTC), which brings together transport operators in the region. The ultimate operator of the new hydrogen buses will be the Régie des Transports du Territoire de Belfort (RTTB), which manages mobility, including bus transport, of Belfort. ‘We are extremely proud to collaborate with SMTC in Belfort and to supply the city with the high-tech, zero-emission hydrogen buses. The Urbino 18 hydrogen are not only an innovative means of transport but also a step towards a sustainable future. Thanks to the new Solaris buses, the residents of Belfort will be able to enjoy cleaner air and modern, reliable public transport,’ said Brice Bonavia, Managing Director of Solaris France. The 18-meter buses will be equipped with a state-of-the-art hydrogen system, which, combined with a modular drive, guarantees optimal driving performance. The Urbino 18 hydrogen will be delivered to the customer in the second half of 2025. This is the third order for hydrogen buses from the French market in recent months, following the contracts for four vehicles for Artois Mobilités and 22 buses for Île-de-France Mobilités. The use of hydrogen technology in public transport is gaining increasing popularity, and we are a clear leader in this field – in 2023, we held almost 50% of the market share in this segment.
