If this week threw you, you are not alone. And if you are finding it challenging to settle down and get focused, here is a simple process to help you move forward from where you are: 📱Put your phone on silent, out of sight and out of reach. 🐸 DON’T try to “eat the frog” and do the hardest thing first. Pick a task that’s easy to accomplish so that you can get a quick win. ⏲ If you’re feeling resistance to starting, set a timer for three minutes and then try. 🔁 If that went well, do it again. 🍳 If/when you’re feeling fried, pick a different task and do three minutes on that. 🏋🏻♂️ You can even run through a sequence of four different tasks for three minutes each. I call it ADHD HIIT. 😁 ☀️ Take a break whenever you need to, 🚨WITHOUT the Internet to keep you company.🚨 After a half hour or so of this type of work, you might be ready to tackle something more substantial. If not, just keep doing tiny tasks. Let me know how it goes. Of course, there’s so much more to this topic. I’d love to hear your tips for getting centered and into a good workflow. #productivityunderstress #creativeproductivity #adhdhiit #adhdatwork #taskmanagement #compassionateproductivity

🌱𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒐𝒎 𝒊𝒏 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝑱𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚: 𝑳𝒆𝒕 𝑮𝒐 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏 🚀 Comparison often activates the brain’s stress response, which can heighten anxiety and diminish our self-esteem. For those with ADHD or high-stress conditions, comparison can exacerbate feelings of inadequacy, creating a loop of self-doubt. 🌱 Psychology research shows that focusing on individual growth reduces the tendency to compare and helps increase personal satisfaction (Festinger, 1954). Embracing your unique journey lets you see others’ achievements as inspiration rather than competition. 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞: Try the “Personal Wins Journal.” Each day, write down three accomplishments, no matter how small. This exercise builds a sense of pride in your journey and reinforces progress over perfection. #TransformationalCoach #MentalHealth #PersonalGrowth #SelfAcceptance #MentalHealthAwareness #ADHDManagement

***Are you picking the right brain battles?*** I love my brain. It can come up with the craziest ideas (not to mention dreams). It processes information and connects dots at lightning speed. It delights in learning. But just like a partner, friend, or child you love to bits, my brain is imperfect. It has a very special relationship with time: when undistracted/unprompted I can completely forget to do things like eat, pick up my child, make that phone call, etc. My home will never be featured in a magazine unless editors all of a sudden start to think that disorganised, messy apartments have a certain charm. I get to drink a lot of tea that was warm half an hour ago. Could I fix the above? Absolutely. Is it worth the effort involved? Not to me personally, at this moment in my life. The way I manage my mind (and my ADHD/ASD) is to pick my battles very carefully and think hard about what is non-negotiable vs. nice to have. Being on time for client sessions? Non-negotiable - I use tech for calendar management, and for each separate session, I set three alarms on my phone to make sure I'm on time (yup, that's a lot of alarms). Drinking warm tea? Nice to have, but not worth setting my alarm for. In general, I prioritise human connection over a perfectly tidy home; pursuing many different interests over becoming a single subject expert; and a relatively unstructured life over warm cups of tea. So taking into account both the brilliance and imperfection of your brain, what battles are you picking this week, and what are you going to let slide? Let me know in the comments below whilst I go and brew some more tea ;) P.S. I've created a worksheet with a model to help you figure out which battles to pick with your specific mind - if you want it comment "Need to have" below or send me a DM. #neurodiversity #adhd #add #asd #coachingtips #timemanagement #productivity #giftedadults #hb #mensa Image: Kitsugawa Yoemon fighting. a giant carp, Utagawa Kunisada (I), 1856, Rijksmuseum Collection

How many projects do you have in the “WIP” status? How many tasks are you working on simultaneously? The unfinished tasks pile up making you feel like you are falling behind on multiple fronts, so you walk away (and start a new task 🥴). If this struggle hits home, today’s blog post may be helpful to you. We are discussing what’s behind task-switching and how to finish tasks and projects when you have ADHD. Some strategies to try: ↠ Develop mindfulness: Practice the “1-2-3” framework where “1” is the start of the project, “2” is the middle, and “3” is the end. When you are about to walk away from a task, pause for a quick self check-in and see which number you are at. If you are at “3” - your job is done! Otherwise, return your focus to the task ↠ Put yourself in a “box”: Imagine a physical barrier around the space you are working in, and you are not allowed to leave it until your job is completed. For example, you can create a makeshift “barrier” by putting a chair in the doorway as a visual reminder to stay in the work zone What are some strategies you found work best for you? #adhdproductivity #adhdstrategies #productivity #adhdatwork
