FIRST IMPRESSIONS STILL MATTER First impressions matter, with the changing landscape of recruitment and most 1st stage interviews being conducted online it is easy to fall into the trap of not dressing or creating an environment to impress. 🧑💼👗🎦 Dressing appropriately can set the tone for a successful interview. Opt for professional attire that mirrors what you'd wear to an in-person interview. A crisp shirt or blouse in neutral colours works well. Avoid overly bright patterns that can be distracting on camera. Remember, your goal is to look polished and professional. Pay attention to the details. Ensure your background is tidy and free from distractions. Good lighting can make a significant difference, so position yourself facing a window or use a lamp to illuminate your face. Lastly, test your camera angle to ensure it captures you from the shoulders up, creating a balanced and professional frame. ✔️ Dress professionally ✔️ Choose neutral colours ✔️ Ensure a tidy background ✔️ Good lighting is key ✔️ Test your camera angle What are your go-to tips for video interviews? Great advice, a virtual interview is still an interview 👍 I also like to have a glass of water nearby and ensure my devices are fully charged to avoid any technical hiccups during the call.
