At Buxton Resources, we are pleased to announce a pivotal update from our Graphite Bull Project. The recent assays from the 2024 drilling program have confirmed shallow, high-grade intersections, such as 50m at 24.9% TGC and 10m at 37.3% TGC, further solidifying the project's potential. This marks a significant step forward in our efforts to establish Graphite Bull as a leading resource in the rapidly expanding battery materials sector. With mineralisation starting at the surface and extending over a 1,500m strike length, the project demonstrates excellent prospects for economic extraction through open-pit methods. Additionally, a 750kg bulk sample is now undergoing qualification test work with BTR, a global leader in anode materials. These results, expected in early February 2025, will play a crucial role in shaping our strategy and positioning Graphite Bull to meet the soaring global demand for lithium-ion battery materials. As we finalise a resource upgrade by early next year, these developments underline the project's immense potential in delivering critical materials for a sustainable energy future. Earlier this month, we posted about our role in a unique collaboration with Global Sea Mineral Resources, part of the DEME Group, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology in a fact-finding mission to assess both the viability and the potential environmental impact of deep-sea #mining. Process Flow Intelligence (PFI), then part of Industrial Tomography Systems Ltd, provided an Electrical Resistance #Tomography (ERT) #density #measurement system to monitor the collection of #polymetallic #nodules from the seabed by Global Sea Mineral Resources’s nodule collector, the Patania II. Process Flow Intelligence (PFI)’s technology was essential to ensure that no blockages occurred between the Patania II’s collector head and collection drum. Any blockage would have necessitated the Patania’s return to the surface to remedy the problem. Because of the amount of time it takes to ascend/descend the 4,500 metre distance to the sea floor, the negative operational consequences are self-explanatory. Thanks to Process Flow Intelligence (PFI)’s ERT technology, the Patania II was able to spend approximately 50 hours on the sea-floor uninterrupted. Rich in nickel, cobalt, manganese, copper, and other minerals; it is hoped that the deep-sea mining of polymetallic nodules will help address the ongoing demand for rare earth minerals necessitated by clean energy technology and to source these minerals in an environmentally responsible manner. If having the opportunity to test our ERT density measurement system at a depth of 4,500 metres sounds like science fiction, then here’s some science fact! Pictured below are some images of the polymetallic nodules in their natural environment on the floor of the Pacific Ocean and in PFI’s Manchester laboratory. #deepseamining #tomography #mining #polymetallicnodules

Teamwork makes the dream work! (Thanks for the support Reinhardt Steyn!) This photo was taken during one of our research studies for the Varistem Stemming Plugs in a "simulated" underground environment. Testing included vibration monitoring, noise and visual analysis for energy confinement investigation. The simulated testing of underground Varistem Stemming Plugs resulted from the difficulty of gathering good datasets in the underground mining environment. Team ERG Industrial is actively working on several new projects in the underground space to add some value for our underground mining friends. Surface miners can't have it all! #miningengineering #miningindustry #undergroundmining #drillandblast

Pierre MARTIN, OneR&D Connections Group Leader, will present a technical paper titled OCTG Connections Evaluation for Underground Hydrogen Storage at the Solution Mining Research Institute Spring 2024 Technical Conference in Krakow, Poland from April 22-23. The paper, co-written with Gasunie, presents the qualification protocol developed by both groups, to assess and validate Vallourec proprietary premium connections for #undergroundhydrogenstorage. No current standard is available to assess OCTG connections for underground storage applications. The #testprotocol developed demonstrated that the connection evaluation is necessary for such applications, and it has also been verified in a salt cavern injection well under 100% hydrogen. The connection has been also assessed through finite element analysis to validate that the testing protocol covered the targeted cycling conditions.
