Before coming to dubai there are somethings I didnt know mattered 1) Driving license Specially if your job demands travelling, this aspect affects a lot 2) UAE Experience This is something i do not believe is necessary since photography/videography skills aren’t different in different countries however if the job demands you to have a network and know other skilled people in the industry this matters. 3) Permissions There are multiple permissions from different authorities that are required to shoot, specially outdoors. knowing this helps 4) Visa/Permit There is a difference between having an employment visa and a freelance visa, visa doesn’t necessarily mean you have the permits or that permits are not needed 5) Whats in demand Dubai has all sorts of opportunities but realestate is and will be in demand, having a portfolio that showcases your realestate photography will be an add on

Company Formation in Dubai I have set up hundreds of companies in Dubai, including both free zones and mainland. What’s the difference? The difference lies in the activity. For example, you can't have a free zone company for a taxi business or a real estate company. It can seem mind-boggling, but that's where I come in. I ensure the correct advice is given, the right jurisdiction is selected, and the most cost-effective approach is taken when setting up. It seems like many nomads are moving here too, so I have partnered with the DMCC Free Zone to offer their freelancer program for marketers, photographers, and other professions. The freelancer option allows you to work, open bank accounts, and rent properties. The free zone option is what most people choose. Essentially, it’s an LLC that can also function as a holding company. It enables you to sponsor your family and staff, and most free zones allow multiple activities on the license. I always enjoy helping people and find it rewarding to ensure that anyone using my services gets the best advice. If anyone is looking to start their own business, set up a branch office in Dubai, or simply relocate, I’d be happy to help. Feel free to reach out!

A MONTH EFFORT - FOR NOTHING?! 🚩👩🏻💻 A month ago, I was contacted by an award-winning recruiting company, representing one of their high-profile clients—a leading real estate broker in Dubai. They urgently needed graphic designer and reached out to me. The interview went smoothly, and then came the challenge: FOUR DIFFERENT CREATIVE TASKS. These weren’t simple tasks—they included everything from video editing to creating print files, designing data visualizations for their social media accounts, and producing both static and animated posts in multiple dimensions. I put in days of work, delivered high-quality work that exceeded their expectations, and submitted everything before the deadline. Then… silence. Ten days passed with no feedback, only for me to finally hear that they’d “PUT THE POSITION ON HOLD”… After weeks of my time, effort, and hopes poured into this process, it all just vanished without a clear explanation. WHY? I’m sharing this not to vent, but to highlight an issue I think many job seekers face: the lack of transparency and respect in recruitment. Candidates invest time, effort, and energy into these processes, and we deserve clear communication, especially when there’s a change in hiring plans. To anyone out there feeling discouraged by similar experiences, know that your dedication is valuable—even if it’s not always acknowledged. Onward to better opportunities where our hard work is truly valued! #DubaiCareers #JobSearchJourney #GraphicDesignCommunity #RecruitmentRealities #JobSeekerLife #DubaiJobMarket #CareerFrustrations #OpportunitiesInDubai #WorkWithPurpose #DesignIndustry #CreativeTalent #CareerGrowth #JobSeekerSupport #TransparencyInRecruitment #EmpowerJobSeekers

Is it fair to request multiple design tasks for free? As a graphic designer actively seeking new opportunities in Dubai, I've recently had interviews where companies asked for 8 to 10 design samples (brochures, social media posts, cover photos, etc.) to assess my skills, all for free. While I understand the need for a test to evaluate a candidate's capabilities, I believe 1 to 2 designs should be sufficient to gauge someone's expertise. Anything beyond that seems like actual work that should be compensated. What are your thoughts on this? Yesterday, I had an interview where I was asked to design a new 17-page booklet. Today, I received another call from a different company, asking for six 6-page booklets, three social media posts, and a flyer to evaluate my skills. As designers, we understand the need for skill assessments, but the volume of work some companies expect—without any compensation—seems excessive. At what point should a line be drawn between a skill test and free labor? Do you think it's fair for companies to request extensive design work without compensation during the hiring process? #graphicdesign #jobsearch #dubai #hiring #designskills
