PSA: I’m all for negotiating and asking for a rate that you feel you are worth. I will never knock a carrier for calling on a spot load and asking if I can work on the rate, of course I can, how much do you need? But if you call on a box truck load, with a box truck, on a lane that I can get a dry van for $1550 and ask me for $1900… I am going to hang up on you. Do you really think I have that much money to move a box truck load??? To add to that, it’s always 3rd party dispatchers. Not only are you wasting my time, but you are wasting your time, and more important than that, you are doing a disservice to the driver you are dispatching for. Happy Friday LinkedIn! The other day I endorsed a carrier, because they were wonderful, despite a negative review on TIA Watchdog. We know the current market isn’t exactly in favor of the drivers.. and being a broker that’s pro-driver.. well it’s not in my favor either, but I’d like to end the stigma of “all brokers are trying to rip off the carrier” The reality is, we’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. I want to do what’s in the best interest of both because I need both. Both are lucrative to my business. I’d also like to utilize my platform to expose the double brokers out there as well. Because it’s rampant.
