Are you ‘Sanguine’? Quite a few surprising words are used willy nilly by Bongs who pride themselves on their mastery of Engleesh. You may hear them utter “Ami Ekdom sanguine” with great conviction on topics that range from discussions about the current price of Ilish to recounting the words of a lesser-known Rabindrasangeet or predictions about cricket and football. One word that expresses complete and utter disgust and has been known to start fistfights is “Nonsense”. When references to the incestuous mating habits of the opponent’s ancestors from 14 generations back doesn’t make your enemy withdraw, just say “Apni Ekta Nonsense lok” and watch his blood pressure soar. There’s a macabre one as well… when recounting details about an accident that led to a fatality, a wide-eyed Bhodrolok will pronounce with great gravity “Spot hoye gechey” presumably describing the immediate demise of the victim at the accident spot. The word “Chocolate” describes every sort of sweet treat from lozenges, toffees and chocolates to boiled sweets available in glass jars at your local corner store or from a vendor on a local train or bus. If your personal space is being encroached upon or you need the crowd to part to make your way forward just shout out “Side” and you’re through. Perhaps originating from “move aside”? If you’re in a crowded public bus, and need it to come to a halt, keep your ears peeled for the conductor to announce your “Stoppage”. It does not signify that the bus will cease to move after your destination or that the drivers will go on strike! My friend Sonia added another gem. When you hear someone say “Uni khoob Serious” it doesn’t mean he’s a philosopher nor a deep thinker. It describes his medical condition … which if he’s a Bong could range from “Petey Gash” to a heart attack. You must ask for details (if you have an hour or so to spare). A stroll down a busy Kolkata road or a bus ride will yield many more such words confidently used with no regard for their original function, but understood by all! -an amused Bangali!

We wonder whether consciously and/or cordially accepted for ownself the privileges of spontaneous judgement / justice granted beforemath of becoming the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government which had formed after a revolutionary movement against injustice and discrimination, if that Government showing any excuse or reason discriminate, disallow or deprive the millions of more severely victims of injustice and discrimination from having such, same or similar privileges of spontaneous judgement / justice: ?does it merely create a bad precedent of 'rule of law' or may totally be unlawful which can be challenged in future if and when Rule of True Justice get established someday in future! Moreover, being a citizen and a bonafide stakeholder of the state, we must have right to know; ?why it is not a serious crime and/or offence seriously/grossly punishable by the People's Republic of Bangladesh being the plaintiff itself against such public- paid-judges / justices to be sued and get more severely punished, if they either for their personal gain/benefit or for political attachment / pressure did or do consciously, knowingly, intentionally pass an unlawful order or judgment to punish an innocent citizen of the People's Republic! ?why the Republic should not be responsible spontaneously to reinstate the victims of injustice with apology and/or due honor as well as granting compensation for causing loss of and damages to those Victims and their Family Members for suffering from the injury every way and means of life and living concerning physical, mental, social, economical, business, job, career , reputation, etc.!
