Imagine a world where everything works in balance—where systems, people, and the land are in harmony. Aboriginal societies mastered this, designing their lives to reflect unity, sustainability, and shared purpose. They thrived by avoiding unnecessary excess and living within the natural rhythms of the land. At Rock Solid, we believe the principles of harmony and sustainability apply just as much to building as they do to living. In construction, true sustainability is about creating spaces where every element works in collaboration. Structures should share loads evenly, balance energy, and integrate with their surroundings to last the test of time. But it’s more than just materials and design—it’s about stripping back unnecessary excess to uncover what truly matters. The simple, thoughtful spaces that nurture contentment and allow us to live with purpose. Designing our presence on Earth shouldn’t destroy it—it should harmonize with it. What if our buildings could reflect that balance? What if we designed homes and communities that worked with the Earth instead of against it? Could this be one layer in creating a world where harmony is the foundation?

One of the four restored industrial buildings in our Palma project will be the former mill. Its design comes from the Slovak architectural studio Superatelier, and this building will offer an unique rental spaces, a small cinema, and a bar. The mill will be integrated into the urbanism of Palma, built on the principles of human scale and the 15-minute city. The square in front of the building will also become one of the key public spaces of the entire project. This part of the new district will emphasize not only community life but also improving the microclimate in public spaces, managing rainwater, and utilizing renewable energy sources. We can’t wait to see these visualizations come to life! A visualization by Mandaworks. #Corwin #Palma #Superatelier #revitalization #brownfield

As the Chaska Town Course prepares to host a major event, they've made a bold choice in selecting synthetic shake for their clubhouse roof. Here's my prediction - this decision is going to set a new trend in the industry. Synthetic shake offers durability and aesthetics that traditional materials simply can't match. The innovative choice of roofing material reflects a forward-thinking approach that can inspire others in the construction and architecture fields. When it comes to creating impressive and sustainable buildings, synthetic shake is paving the way for a greener future. Let's keep a close eye on how this choice influences upcoming projects within the industry.

In various projects in the #MiddleEast Virtual Climate showed that by simply choosing the right type of vegetation (canopy trees instead of palm trees) and materials (sandstone finishes rather than concrete), the number of comfortable hours in the ‘habitable’ areas of hospitality venues could be increased by more than 1000 hours and this meant two months of additional usability and as a result, increased revenue for local businesses. #sustainability #construction #climatechange #construction Veda Baliga Ruggiero Guida https://lnkd.in/dM3srGnV

Check out this article on an off-grid retreat built in rural VIC. The use of timber is beautiful and sustainable and helped this homeowner achieve a dream design. "Sustainability was also key — Gardiner Architects AU used prefabricated timber for the roof, and a passive solar design to help reduce the load of the off-grid energy system." https://lnkd.in/gAPSQkMB
