The Unexpected Connections of Start-ups, Investors, and...Shorts? They say dress for the job you want, but apparently, at Arctic15 this year, the hottest look was shorts? (Don't worry, I didn’t tell the CEO advanced outfit of my choice). 🩳 Seriously though, the event was absolutely fantastic, and the real highlight was hearing inspiring startup stories straight from the founders. But the universe, being the jokester it is, had other plans for some epic networking. Here's how my "winging it" approach totally paid off: Day 1: Rooftop terrace chilling (in shorts, naturally) with Anssi Pakkanen (fellow startup colleague, but most importantly, absolute legend) when Thorsten Claus, one of the coolest person ever (probably because he noticed the shorts), strikes up a conversation. Turns out, great minds think alike, or at least have a similar sense of strange humor! Day 2: I am heading my way out from #Arctic15 to see Metallica with my daughter (still in shorts because of commitment) when Reijo Pentikäinen, another awesome person with impeccable short-based fashion sense, throws up the horns (and we start chatting about of-course shorts and other stuff like business!). 🩳 The lesson here? Sometimes, the best connections happen when you least expect them. So ditch the stuffy suits, embrace the flow (and maybe some comfy shorts?), and see where life (shorts "Ripcurl" 😉 ) takes you! P.S.
