#Music, #creativity, and #management sciences Management science has transferred many subjects from music. For decades, some of the most well-known management gurus, such as Peter Drucker and Henry Mintzberg, have used the orchestra conductor metaphor in their leadership studies. Working on music with my husband, a composer, made me realize that there are no artificial distinctions in music, which may be why it's the only art form that one can enjoy without touching or seeing. There is a widely accepted artificial distinction between administrative and creative activities. If we could reduce or eliminate this artificial distinction, we might see an increase in creative activity in many institutions. How can we apply these principles from music to management science? I believe this is an appropriate research topic. Visuals and music belong to us.
