One of my favourite jackets for the fall was a Lululemon windbreaker that I had repaired MANY times at their 'lab' on Queen St. DTC apparel brands like Arc'teryx Equipment will quickly move to the front of the market by leading with in-store repair centers. Consumer demand for services that extend product lifecycles is on the rise.  Here’s why this shift matters: 🌱 Sustainability Isn’t Optional: 80% of consumers now demand eco-friendly options. Such articles are nonsense and personally motivated to pursue a specific agenda. Indigo dye is easiest to separate in the effluent treatment, as it is an undissolved particle after its usage. This is unlike reactive colour dyes which remain dissolved in water and are very difficult to treat and separate at the effluent treatment stage. These dyes heavily pollute the water bodies. Polyesters on the other hand shed micro fibers during home laundry and they are not biodegradable. At least cotton has an advantage that it is biodegradable. Jeans have got another advantage that they need to be washed much less frequently than the other type of clothing. Hence adverse water consumption studies are not taking a holistic view. Also the Jeans need not be replenished in your wardrobe that frequently as it one Bule colour suitable for every season and over last 75 years have not gone out of fashion. Other colored clothes are fashion driven. By the way what kind of clothes we should wear if not Jeans. Any suggestions?
