LeChase Construction Sr. Vice President of Preconstruction Services Peter S. Muench Jr. landed on a winning strategy for helping his teams deliver an even stronger preconstruction effort: deploying the right technology. "Project variables have become more complex, with uncertainty around availability of materials and labor making it substantially more challenging to plan and estimate costs," Peter wrote in Construction Dive (link in comments). "This is where using technology can really help streamline the preconstruction process to deliver even more value." Peter details how LeChase used the Join platform on a recent education project to help the Board understand costs and make decisions in real time: "The collaboration of all members allowed Charlton School's executive director to update the institution's board at each meeting, eliminating the mystery of where the project would land. In fact, the school even used the platform to keep students and their families apprised of the current plans and renderings." #constructiontechnology #contech #preconstruction

We were contracted by McDiarmid Construction to completely rehabilitate the Grillers Meats parking lot in Salmon Arm. The scope of work involved removing the existing deteriorated asphalt for recycling, removing and rebuilding 0.5m of poor base material, installing a new drain, and repaving a beautiful new parking lot. How did we win against multiple other qualified companies? We understand the importance of not just the project’s upfront cost, but also the impact to the clients and tenants on the property: every extra day that a project takes costs our clients and their tenants massive dollars. That’s why PSI always tackles every project with all available resources. What that means is that we can minimize the impact and downtime that commercial businesses face during the reconstruction of their parking lot by making the process happen almost overnight instead of a week or more. As a small business, we know what it’s like to operate on a budget, and maximize every productive day. If you’re in need of a resurface or rebuild of your retail or commercial parking lot, reach out to us today to experience the PSI difference!

Happy Saturday Morning, On this cloudy and cold Northern California morning for unknown reasons I started thinking about the Mackinaw Bridge. I grew up 240 miles south of the Mighty Mac in the small farming town of Holly Michigan. Michiganders my age grew up with the bridge, it seemed like Mighty Mac was always there. My friends and classmates never gave much thought to the engineering masterpiece that is the Mackinaw bridge. The Mighty Mac is the longest suspension bridge in the Western Hemisphere with 7400 feet of roadway suspended in the air over the straits of Mackinaw. The total length is just under 27,000' or 5 miles and is 552' high. The chief engineer for the Mackinac Bridge was David B. Steinman. This project was not easy, it produced over 4000 engineering drawings and 85,000 blueprints. The bridge took 48 months to build by over 3500 skilled workers. Sadly 5 workers died in the effort. Finally on November 1, 1957 the bridge opened for traffic. On January 1, 2024 I declared to my team that 2024 was the year of the partnership. I've learned that success in this industry is about building bridges - between partners, between businesses, and between opportunities. It's about creating connections that facilitate growth and enable progress. Just like the Mackinaw Bridge, my journey has had its fair share of challenges. From starting out moving furniture at Corrigan Moving Systems in Auburn Hills Michigan to becoming the Vice President of Chipman Relocation in Sacramento California, it's been a road marked by hard work, perseverance, and a relentless pursuit of growth. But every challenge has been an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to build stronger bridges. And I've been fortunate to have a strong support system along the way - my wife of 33 years, my four daughters, and my unwavering love for the industry. So, let's continue to build these bridges together. Let's connect, collaborate, and create opportunities for growth. Because together, we can achieve more. If my journey resonates with you, feel free to like, comment, or share this post. Let's inspire each other to build more bridges, in business and in life. #Logistics #Growth #Partnerships #OneChipman #Chipman #logistics #whiteglove #whiteglovedeliveries #omavantage #warehouse #fulfillmentservices #portlandwarehouse #shorttermwarehousing.
