A fascinating Private Sector Forum today on the African Growth and Opportunity Act (#AGOA) which is up for a 16-year renewal by the U.S. Congress. Key concerns: - renewing AGOA as is vs. embellishment discussions then renewal (majority seemed to be in favor of renewal now); - continuing to expand the potential for bidirectional opportunities via Prosper Africa which currently include off-season importing of South African grapes by the U.S.; and - addressing the critical need for AGOA stability to secure private sector investment and support. Deputy Secretary for Commerce, Don Graves, Prosper Africa Coordinator, British Robinson and Corporate Council for Africa President and CEO, Florie Liser were featured participants. #Africa #GlobalBusiness
