Foreign relations matter now more than they have ever done. As we all navigate global geopolitical turbulence, we must all continue to build bridges, in business, public sector, education, etc. The world needs less barriers and individualism, and more collaboration and inclusion. At Tallink Grupp we believe in it, promote it, live it. Today was a great example of this as we hosted representatives of 40 countries on our ship to foster collaboration, friendships, unity. It is not every day you get to discuss topics that matter with Ambassadors of Romania, Turkey, Vietnam, Chile, Malaysia and many others! I am sure we built some bridges today and made some new friends for Tallink Grupp, for Estonia, for Finland and also for ourselves personally. South Africa Participates in China International Friendship Cities Conference Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) Deputy Minister, Dr Namane Dickson Masemola, will attend and participate in engagements at the China International Friendship Cities Conference taking place in Kunming from 18 – 19 November 2024. This conference is co-hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the government of Yunnan Province. “The conference theme, 'Common Prosperity, Shared Future', aligns with the goals of the Ministry of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, and will allow our department to contribute valuable insights from the South African experience." The department emphasised that the conference is an important platform, which will offer a unique opportunity for knowledge sharing and collaboration amongst friendship cities and local governments, both within China and internationally. The association aims to enhance people’s friendship, further international cooperation, safeguard world peace and promote common development. The two-day conference will comprise parallel sessions discussing the following topics: Technology Innovation for Building #SmartCities Urban Green Development for Public Wellbeing Reserving Urban History and Culture Interconnected Transportation for building a shared #UrbanFuture - SAnews.gov.za

📣 Here's an important update about the 7th Australia Vanuatu Business Forum. We have recently been advised by the Government of Vanuatu, through the Australian High Commission in Port Vila, that although they are eager to support the Business Forum, the original November scheduling conflicts with several key government events. As a result, their ability to provide ministerial and senior official attendance—crucial for discussions on major economic and business policies—would be significantly limited. At the request of the Government of Vanuatu, we have carefully considered the option to defer the Forum. After assessing the impact, we believe that proceeding in November without their full participation would compromise the value for all attendees. Therefore, we have decided to reschedule the Forum to Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th March 2025 to ensure the best possible experience for participants. 📅 Please note these new dates.
