I hear it time and time again - in the UK, in Germany, anywhere - that communicators' biggest gripe is that the leaders of their company don't understand the value of communication (and often underfund it as a consequence). As one senior corporate communicator (large international recruitment agency) I recently met said in an exasperated voice: "How do we educate our C-Suite so they recognise the value of what we do?" So, the onus is on communicators FIRST to communicate the value of communication to their leaders, BEFORE embarking on the next big campaign. It's a tall order. But it can be done.
