#Listening is Key for Safe and Supportive Communities It is essential that we make sure everyone's voice is heard, especially when it comes to safeguarding. As we strive towards creating safe and supportive communities, it is important to follow the example of Leeds Safeguarding Board. Here are some key takeaways: 👉 Talk to those involved and listen to their concerns 👉 Work together to support and protect them 👉 Ask what changes they would like to achieve Ignoring someone's wishes creates a power imbalance and harms them. Let's work towards a society where we prioritize listening and respect the voices of those involved. #safeguarding #community #listening #support #surreymash #terrenceherbert #victoriaatkins #healthandsocialcareminister #AMHP

Why is Bystander Training so important? Not sure? Well this is a comment from a sexual violence survivor, in a recent BBC News online article: "I think if the security staff were taught about bystander training, I think that would have made a difference - there would have been help at recognising the signs." We are offering FREE Bystander training to night time economy workers, retail and transport in Durham City. It will help to identify the signs, and intervene safely.
