Hello TMers and followers, Interested in joining on our next TM event, November 14th? There are plenty of good reasons for that. -Did you know that a TM event is very well structured? There is a Toastmaster of the evening, the master of ceremony, who guides attendees through the evening with a specific theme. -There are 3-4 speakers, each evaluated by an evaluator. -The time is meticulously monitored by our Time keeper of the evening. -There often is a grammarian, who looks for unique words, sentences, grammatical bloopers,... -There are ballots, on which attendees can write some feedback to speakers. -We have Table Topics, always fun when volunteers have to improvise with only a couple of words or sentences. All is evaluated by the General Evaluator, who gives feedback to all those taking up roles. -At the end the night, the best speaker, evaluator, Table topic leaves with great honor and an applause! One thing each attendee has in common, they all perceive it as a safe environment to learn while enjoying. Anyone joining and going on stage is a winner. Feedback is delivered in a constructive, non-judgemental manner. The room is full of positive energy. Do you want to feel it? Join us on one of the next TM events!

8 Key Learnings from My First Large In-Person Event 🎉 1. Start a waitlist - Create urgency with supply and demand. 2. Gain experience from experts - Thank you Matt Matheson - The Speaking Coach. Working with you helped me to facilitate this day with ease. 3. The power of bringing people together is immense. 4. Set the foundation early - Welcome people personally prior to your event. 5. Venue matters - Sunshine, free parking, and easy access make a difference. 6. Have guest speakers - They add depth and different perspectives. Thank you Jane Johnson and Antje Langsch. You were amazing. 7. Lunch bonds people - Buffet style encourages mingling. 8. Close powerfully - People remember the end! "It's worse to spend your life on the outside looking in, wondering what if, than it is to try and dare greatly and risk the chance of failure. Dare greatly; get in the arena and try." Brene Brown The day was everything I wished it would be and more. Just booked the venue for Friday 8 November for an annual planning meet! Hold the date! 💞

I have organised a social event tonight for current and former colleagues and find myself pondering the question. "Has the art of RSVPs gone by the wayside?" When you get an invite and in the modern world we get a lot of these how often do you bother responding? If you invite people for dinner usually you expect a response so you know how many places to set and how much food to cook. So when is it acceptable to simple not respond? There are 4 options when you get a meeting invite Yes I am coming No I do not plan on coming I might be there Unknown/no response What could/does "no response mean" - I am non comital but do not want to say maybe - your invite ended up in a spam folder and I will never see it - I saw your invite and was planing on responding later - I responded but you are on google and I am on outlook and response has not been recorded (or visa versa) - I no longer use this email address but you do not know that - and many more I am actually pleased with 1/3 response rate (this is where invites has ended up) Lets see if the space I have booked (for about 60 give or take) is sufficient or if all or most of the 169 of my closets friends just turn up!

It's #conferenceszn for many of us in the #highered industry! This is the time of year we post about our #learnings, sharing and exchanging knowledge, making new connections, etc... But, I want to talk about #conferencebuddies, yes! A conference buddy is a person for whom you may only see once a year at a given conference, but catch up immediately where you left off. A conference buddy requires little to no maintenance, a shared understanding at we are all busy doing our things throughout the year. There is no expectation that we catch up on a regular basis, but rather, leverage the short time to catch up, laugh, and learn. We all have that small handful of people that we can count on at a particular conference to be our conference buddy. So, to all my conference buddies out there: thanks for honouring realistic expectations on work-life time demands and for always being up for a reconnect and a laugh. #youknowwhoyouare

Pre-registration can make a big difference in attendance by building a sense of commitment in your guests, making them more likely to show up. It also lets you send reminders, and if some don't attend, you can keep their info for future invitations. #EventSuccess #evangelism

When you're inviting people to an event, make the Call To Action button to a registration page - not one that gets them to email you. Why? 1. It is easier for the invited, taking less time 2. With a confirmed list, you can easily follow up, perhaps sending them an .ics file that adds the event to their calendar 3. It creates a list you can use to sign off the people who attend, and those who don't 4. Makes it very easy to follow up after the event. If you need a hand, let me know and we can talk

CTA ('Register now') is added for the next upcoming step screen 2 - This screen contains registration form with text boxes indicating the users to fill them in a correct format . Dropdown is added for the role of participation. radio buttons are for time schedule .Finally the checkbox is for agreement .CTA ('Register') is given Screen 3 - This one is a confirmation page where the users will recieve a thank you and confirmation message for registration , mail and get guided for further procedures like CTA - ('event details') and a secondary button for sharing the event's registration form to others

Tickets have been on sale for less than 7 days and we now only have 30 spaces left for November!!! For anyone thinking about attending for the first time, here are some insights which may help you make that final decision before we sell out: 1. Privacy Space is a safe space for networking and sharing. We operate Chatham House rules and respectfully ask that what is shared at Privacy Space stays there unless it's your own personal experience and opinions. 2. We have a maximum of 80 spaces for attendees to give everyone a chance to network and meet each other without feeling overwhelmed. We also have lot's of open spaces and seating for people that need some time to decompress. 3. We DO NOT share your details with our exhibitors. You connect with them on your own terms. 4. There are lot's of snacks and refreshment stations around the venue and lunch is a sit down, hot buffet in the main restaurant. All included in your ticket price. 5. There's lot's of free parking! 6. Lot's people stay the night or stay for dinner, we had 30 people in the evening at our April event. The evenings are informal and very friendly. Everyone is welcome! 7. We run two events a year in April and November so if you can't make this one, don't worry! If you have any further questions, we're happy to help! We can't wait to see you all! Tickets are available here: https://lnkd.in/eTnV4-YG Privacy Space

We're heading into peak conference season, which means it's time for a PSA: Event producers don't sell registration lists. Those people in your inbox hawking lists are full of it. If you want to reach event registrants you have two options: 1. attend the event 2. work with publishers officially affiliated with the event. This option won't get you full access, but it's better than buying a list off a cold email.
