WHO released a Global health report in 2000. Was going through it and this sentence in chapter 1 caught my eye "These conflicting kinds of evidence can be reconciled in two ways: first, by noting that while health systems account for much health progress through time, that progress is far from uniform among countries at any one time, even among countries with similar levels of income and health expenditure; and second, by recognizing that the errors of the system diminish but do not offset the good it accomplishes" Analysis on healthcare budget, health systems have to be far expansive and include many other items- lot of factors influence health beyond even healthcare systems.

1wThis is a very timely piece of work - and one of the emphases on capacity for delivering innovation into better practice is crucial. I would go further than the article's summary which advocates for freeing up (investing in) staff time to assess and implement useful innovations. There should also be investment in dedicated innovation implementation staff - such as change managers and in-house data and tech specialists - especially as and when innovations have AI and data-driven components.
