As 2024 comes to a close, we are proud to celebrate an incredible milestone—30 years of delivering quality Outside School Hours Care across Australia. This year has been a tribute to the children we have inspired, the futures we have helped shape, and the communities we have had the privilege to support. Across Australia, our team members celebrated this milestone in countless ways—sharing stories, hosting celebratory parties, creating memorable experiences for children, and reflecting on the impact of three decades of service. #OSHC #learning #education Warren Jacobson Igor Merkin Alissa Taylor Craig Stewart Peter Lane Tim Naylor Paula Mayson Carole Priol Chelsea Daly Raksha Parsnani Brittney Burgess Cassandra Ware Iain Dennis Kellie Perren Jonathan Tannoury Gwen Stocks Sabrina Hanna Nathan Platus Neval Ferman

"This organization has established itself as one of the foremost emergent adult training programs in the country. I've been a part of that history for the last 25 years — I've witnessed how we as an organization have stayed true to our original mission and how our core principles and values have not only remained intact, but can guide us." What Alternative Provision events mean to me... Yeah sure. It is great that many Alternative Provision providers can get together, connect and discuss how they fit in the SEN sphere. Not competing but collaborating... 🤝💚 And yes, we get to speak to #SEN caseworkers and #SENCO's about learners they have that need our support for learners that are not attending school... 💬 I also get to hear other professionals speak about their personal experiences with Alternative Provision and SEN learners... 👂🤓 It is absolutely mentally exhausting... BUT, it means the absolute most when you speak to a parents, completely worn out parents, that have been fighting the system so that their child can get the provision they need, and they find out we can #support them. Most of all, the look on their faces when they realise there is such niche provision available for their child with such specific needs and often leave in tears. 😢 Education Boutique's third Alternative Provision event will be in Surrey next Friday😊 Join as an attendee, with the link down below. #SEN #Event #AlternativeProvision #Surrey https://lnkd.in/e454m2RT

Really interesting read - how can we highlight the “Cost of CLD” & what can we do 🤔
You've heard about the cost of the school day.... Susan Epsworth and I have been talking about the "Cost Of CLD". Too many young people and adults simply can't afford to get to the informal learning opportunities we offer in communities, regardless of our best efforts to remove barriers. Found this an interesting read... https://lnkd.in/eEbxHZmz

ECE Champions, I don’t define early care and learning facilities as simply daycares. My definition of the word early care and learning facilities includes any place that has early care and learning educators, advocates, and champions that have passion on purpose. So when you hear me say early care and learning facilities , know that I’m not just saying daycare. All of us have stories of the early care and learning workforce. The experiences that happen between birth and age 8 impact your life forever. These places and/ or positions are impactful and important! They each provide experiences that are foundational to lifelong success! All educators deserve to experience professional learning opportunities , all early care and learning educators deserve to experience TLC Consulting LLC . So if you or someone you know is an Early Care and Learning Educator, Advocate and/or Champion, tag them in the comments. We at TLC want to affirm you as Early Care and Learning Educators, Advocates, and/or Champions. Let’s reclaim our value as the essential workforce that we are! 🎄 The Festive Period and Children in Care: A Time for Sensitivity and Support 🎄 As we approach the festive season, it’s important to remember that this time of year, while joyous for many, can be particularly challenging for children in care. Christmas is such a family-oriented event, and for some young people, this focus on togetherness can be triggering, amplifying feelings of loss, separation, or displacement. Being mindful of this reality helps us tune into the needs of young people who might struggle more intensely during this period. By recognising the potential for “big emotions” in response to the season, we can think of ways to support them, whether that’s through gentle, empathetic conversations, providing space to express themselves, or focusing on what makes them feel safe and included. For schools, this is also a time to look ahead and consider the additional support some students may need as they transition into the New Year. At Bespoke Engaging Education Services (BEES), we know how critical timely intervention can be. That’s why we accept referrals year-round, often enrolling young people in as little as a week to ensure they receive the support they need without delay. If you have a young person who could benefit from specialist support at this time, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Let’s work together to make this season a little easier for the children who need it most. Thank you for reading. Nathan Potts www.beesuk.org 🐝

At school, we’ve recognised the need for a new approach to addressing attendance issues. Rather than solely focusing on students when they arrive late, we have shifted our strategy to engage more collaboratively with our parents.Since implementing iSAMS, we have been able to track late arrivals more accurately, allowing us to gather detailed data on cumulative minutes late. By having open discussions with parents and sharing this information, we’ve found that it often has a significant impact. When parents see how those minutes translate into missed lesson time, they are more willing to work with us to encourage and improve punctuality.Additionally, we’ve adopted a positive reinforcement approach at the school gates. By recognising and supporting students who are making an effort to improve their arrival times, we’ve noticed a positive influence on their peers. This is complemented by sending positive emails to parents about their children's progress, fostering a supportive environment. After just six weeks of this approach, we’re seeing a notable improvement in attendance (almost of 5% across secondary and 7.2% at 6th form) and a more positive atmosphere throughout the school. Working together with our families, we are creating a culture of accountability that benefits our community. #SchoolAttendance #Collaboration #Education #iSAMS
