Consider the wording. “Untimely”, “Unplanned”, “Accident”, “Unfortunate”, “Late Term”, “Health Care”, et al, are all words that can be used for any person, any age, any occurrence, any health condition. “Lawmakers” have their health benefits paid for by taxpayers. Taxpayers get less and pay more. Observe our health care benefits being methodically aborted, and rising copays. Vote informed. Read proposals.

Good to speak to BBC Radio Sussex this morning (before the King's Speech) about Section 21 and its impending abolition. As ever, the narrative was that Section 21 is causing homelessness. But banning Section 21 won't make it easier for households to find suitable homes - nor will it ease rents or boost quality. Far from it. We now know that the Renters' Rights Bill will come with "expanded possession grounds...so landlords can reclaim their properties when they need to". This is of course, welcome. But court reform is imperative alongside workable grounds and National Residential Landlords Association - NRLA will continue to push for an adequately resourced and fully functional system that provides access to justice when it is needed. Discussion from 3hrs 15mins via the link ⬇ #Section21 #PRS #landlordconfidence #courtreform #supply #demand https://lnkd.in/eRrifT5U

I love this. I am so sick of people making fun of the way he looks. Instead of talking about his behavior, they talk about his weight or appearance, which insults everyone else who is higher weight, and they don't deserve that. I find it childish and thoughtless. I'm glad this article was written. Some key quotes: "Despite plenty of substantive material (including those convictions) to critique, Trump’s body continues to be a go-to target for comedians, cartoonists and everyday Americans who dislike him for political or ethical reasons. Turning his looks into a punchline may get laughs, but this mockery reinforces biases that contribute to the body image struggles faced by men and boys." I'll add that it insults everyone, not only men and boys, but anyone who is in a larger body. And I appreciate the point the article makes that it's not only women and girls who struggle with body image/standards. "Because Trump himself is known for publicly bullying and body-shaming others, some may feel it’s only fair for him to be on the receiving end of the same kind of ad hominem attacks. Both [Aaron] Flores and [Stephen] Reeder cautioned, however, against “bullying the bully” — especially because it’s the innocent bystanders who are hurt most by these jokes...For opponents of Trump, it’s worth considering the implications of taking a page right out of his playbook: Is it OK to disparage someone’s appearance simply because you don’t like them? What does it say that you’re willing to imitate someone whose character you question?" I agree, the hypocrisy is hard to stomach. #antidiet #bodypositive #disorderedeating #bodyimage

⚠ Current measures of child sexual exploitation and abuse prevalence miss a key population – children under five years old. 💡 To better understand the scale of the problem and to better protect this vulnerable group, Childlight will utilise administrative datasets and a statistical method called Multiple Systems Estimation (MSE) previously used to estimate the prevalence of modern slavery in the UK. ⏩ With MSE, administrative data is collected in real time and does not rely on adult survivors' memories of childhood experiences. But there are challenges with MSE, which include finding and accessing datasets that meet the requirements for analysis. 🙏 Childlight is looking for administrative data owners who are interested in this approach and in estimating prevalence of CSEA in the early years to get in touch. https://lnkd.in/e-R_5W7h ℹ You can find out more on our work in this area here https://lnkd.in/eHwQ9K8d
