Oooh just look at this testimonial from one of my clients ⬇️ I don't share testimonials enough, but receiving them always confirms why I love running my neurodiversity awareness training. So many lightbulb moments and countless "Oh my gosh, I never realised!" reactions make it all worthwhile. As my client beautifully put it, "Everyone needs this training." This is why I run these workshops. Every single time, I hear the same feedback: "Everyone needs to come on this workshop." If you or your staff deal with people in any context, this training will be invaluable. It significantly improves interactions with staff, colleagues, clients, and even in personal relationships. Here are 3 clear reasons why you need to attend - and why you need to send your staff ⬇️ ➡️ Improved Communication - Avoid conflict and misunderstandings. ➡️ Customer and Client Retention - Once you understand them, they’ll feel valued and will want to stay around. ➡️ Enhance Reputation - You’ll get a reputation for being inclusive, making it easy and uplifting for people to work for and be around you. I'm excited to announce that four dates are available, both face-to-face and online. I’d love for you to book a spot and experience the benefits firsthand. I'll pop the link below. #Neurodiversity #AwarenessTraining #ProfessionalDevelopment #Workshops #InclusiveWorkplace

*Facilitator for hire* Last week I was reminded of a skill I have that I haven’t used for a while. It was a lot of fun and now I’d like to use it again! I had the privilege to support Caragh Dewis, Liz Ogilvie and Scott Middleton at an event for one of their clients. It was a 2-day conference, bringing together researchers from around the world (in person and online) to discuss key questions about their work and potential for further collaboration. Our job as facilitators was to shepherd them through the different activities across the 2 days and ensure that everyone had the opportunity to have their say. As the middle event in a series of 3, we needed to make sure previous conversations were brought forward and that we ended the second day ready for the delegates to complete the series next month. I enjoy this type of work because: · I get to support people in speaking up and using their voice – as a facilitator it’s important to make sure it isn’t just the same people who are heard each time. · I need to quickly make a connection with the participants and build trust so that they are happy to take part in activities and share their views. · I have to balance structure and flexibility – in most cases we start with an outline of the event and activity timings and we need to keep everyone on track to achieve everything in time. But more often than not, something will happen that requires us to adapt as we go, spending more or less time on an activity or changing the plan completely. · I work as part of a team with the other facilitators – we each have a specific role or area of focus and together we need to bring all elements together for a successful event. If you need someone to join your facilitation team for an event, please get in touch. Now I’ve been reminded how much I enjoy this type of work, I’m keen to keep going. What skill do you have that you’ve forgotten about? #facilitator #facilitation #events

How powerful is self-reflection? What difference could this make to your decision-making, communication, leadership style, and even well-being? I've been researching this topic, as I create a new webinar for delivery next month, and it's even clearer now that the impact of self-reflection can be staggering! 💫 According to the Harvard Business Review: "Research shows the habit of reflection can separate extraordinary professionals from mediocre ones. We would go so far as to argue that it’s the foundation that all other soft skills grow from." The practice itself is all about learning, looking back on the day (without bias or regret) to contemplate your behaviour and its consequences. With this in mind, I've been reflecting on the past few months and this has brought valuable insights: 💡 Grateful to collaborate with Carl Errington & David Bird within our People Development Team, planning impactful sessions for personal and professional transformation (up to, and including, 2025) 💡 Delivering fast-paced, experiential webinars, like 'Managing Up', has been rewarding with really positive feedback. 💡Co-delivering a talk on creating 'Psychological Safety' at the Vistry Connect event in Birmingham was an honour, engaging with a forward-thinking group. 💡Simple yet powerful relationship-building techniques, like the Betari Box, can profoundly impact interactions by setting positive intentions. 💡 Recognising the importance of recharging our 'Body Battery' to come back stronger and more effective. How often do you take time to reflect? Share how you make this practice meaningful for your personal and professional growth.

Executives and Career Professionals, Read This! Recently, I had an enriching conversation with one of my clients who reached out to me concerning Prepare To Speak VIP. From the proceeds of that conversation, I noticed a pattern. The pattern applies to almost every Career Professional and Executive that I have worked with in the quest to improve their speaking and presentation. What are they? I'll outline them. 👉🏽 The desire to ATTRACT a wider network of valuable people and pull/attract loyal followers. 👉🏽 The desire to EXPRESS expertise. 👉🏽 The willingness to SHOW technical skills and simplify complex ideas and interestingly present them. 👉🏽 The desire to determine and carve out a speaking NICHE, both in their workplace and outside. This includes DIVERSIFYING their speaking, from technical to mainstream. 👉🏽 The desire to bring VALUE to the table (organisation/company) and in other cases, become the table. 👉🏽 The desire to become the go-to Executive, DOMINATING and thriving in their workspaces, and lastly, 👉🏽 Taking advantage of local and global speaking and presentation OPPORTUNITIES, and... 👉🏽 Follow and mop up the extra MONEY on the table of these opportunities. Guess what? Prepare to Speak VIP is tailored specifically to address and grant all of these desires and more. 😱 My conversations with young people suggest we don't have clear progression pathways for them in the events industry. I want to hear from you: 👉 What is preventing us from truly supporting the growth and development of young professionals in events? 👉 Are companies not prioritizing mentorship and training? 👉 Do we lack adequate resources for their professional growth? 👉 Is it the competitive culture that discourages collaboration and knowledge sharing? I wish I had all the solutions, but the first step is identifying the systemic barriers that are hindering young talent from thriving in our industry. This situation is not sustainable long-term. We need to nurture the next generation to ensure a vibrant and innovative future for events. What's holding us back from fixing this? Share your thoughts below or in my DMs because your courage could be the catalyst we need. #Profeshonali #YoungProfessionalsInEvents #EventsIndustryChallenges #SupportYoungTalent #MentorshipMatters #FutureOfEvents

Every event has a culture. and it starts with your team. Attendees will never love your event if your team doesn’t. Treat your team the way you want them to treat your attendees. Ask yourself. - Is anyone afraid to tell me if something goes wrong? - Do they feel comfortable taking a risk? - Making a decision? Does your team have permission to be wrong? That idea they tried. It might not work. But are you ok with that? You should strive for perfection. But are you willing to accept a learning experience? Ultimately, ask yourself how your team feels the night before the event. Show your team you care. And they will show you how much they care about the attendees.

That 'eww' moment when you put cold, wet shoes on... but it was totally worth it today! Last night, members of the Winter Cohort of Kimolian Academy came together for the first time, and it was an incredible experience. There's something about being in the same physical space as like-minded individuals that just can't be replicated online. For me, this journey has highlighted the importance of the customer and clarity in business. Approaching business with these principles in mind can have a positive impact on team productivity and help prevent burnout. It's amazing what can happen when we come together and share our insights and experiences. What have been some of your favorite in-person learning experiences? Share in the comments below! #eventprofs #events #eventsindustry
