***A TIP FOR A PODCAST FOR 2025*** 🎙️ 🎧 Since year 2025 is almost here, I would like to share here a tip for this upcoming year for a super-useful podcast I have been following last few years: HUBERMAN LAB - https://lnkd.in/eCC8JzV6. This podcast combines a number of topics such as psychology, self-development, healthy lifestyle, body functioning etc. and it is run by DR. ANDREW HUBERMAN, who is a neuroscientist and tenured professor in the department of neurobiology, and by courtesy, psychiatry and behavioral sciences at STANFORD SCHOOL OF MEDICINE – so a very smart guy. The respective podcast episodes are usually a bit longer – from half an hour to a few hours – so that the topic can be addressed in sufficient detail. I usually listen to this podcast when driving to work and back and given the length of the podcast episodes, sometimes one episode takes me a few work trips but it is 100% worthy 😊 What the podcast brought to me in particular is that I started to understand how human body works (brain and other organs, hormones etc.) and this allowed me to re-set some of my daily routines (in particular things related to sleep, nutrition, stress management etc.). I need to understand things well to be able to implement new routines and stick to them for a long term. So, if you are looking for something that could help you to improve some aspects of your personal and professional life in 2025, I think that this podcast can be a very good choice ✅💡✨ All the best for 2025 🎉🥳🎇 #smarttipsfor2025 #HUBERMANLAB #self-development

https://lnkd.in/gh5BV396 Masking is a learned behavior picked up as an adaptive measure. It's the act of hiding and suppressing your true thoughts, feelings, and actions in order to fit in or avoid negative experiences. Often, it becomes maladaptive in practice as we may lose track of how we truly feel or see our authenticity as a weakness. In this episode, we discuss some neuroscience behind masking, common symptoms, and neuroscience-backed measures to tackle it. This is heavy on the neuroscience background, so I hope you enjoy that perspective! #adhd #neuroscience #slp #podcast #chronicconditions #healing #psychology

It is challenging to know that our brains are sculpted by others, influential and powerful individuals, culture, environment in our formative years 0-25. We each have a unique brain - which unto itself is amazing to think about - but we all get scripted. I have made many mistakes in my life and I know the brain learns by making mistakes, but it doesn't lessen the anguish I feel about some mistakes. Bottom line is - our brains have neuroplasticity. We can change. We can have stronger brains. We can repair harm done to our brains. Tune in tomorrow to a podcast on this exact issue if you're interested. Dr. Krystal L. “What happened to you?” Is available in Spanish under the title “Qué te pasó?” Es un libro increíble para entender el cerebro y cómo nos impacta el estrés y trauma.
I get a lot of questions about resources I use to learn about the long term impacts of child abūse on human brain development and consequently, it's function . My favorite books aimed at a general audience are by Bruce Duncan Perry 1️⃣ The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog, with Maia Salavitz: https://amzn.to/3Qw2A0T 2️⃣ What Happened to You? with Oprah Winfrey: https://amzn.to/3wq9DBg . If you're interested in learning more about brain development and stress, you can listen to the Curious Neuron podcast episode I recorded with Cindy Hovington, Ph.D. and Dr. Perry: https://lnkd.in/ej3PuMwN . I also wrote a blog post inspired by his amazing analogy of how the brain is organized like an upside down cake 🎂 : https://lnkd.in/edfqG3b3 . #research #sciencecommunication #scicomm #braindevelopment #earlylifestress #mentalhealth

“If we could better hear the brain’s voice or understand its signals, we’d be able to approach mental health and menstrual health in a completely new way.” 🧠 In a recent interview with Méline Liu of The HumanWare Podcast, our founder Emilė R. shared how understanding the brain’s role in hormonal shifts inspired the creation of Nettle. By focusing on the brain, we’re opening the door to new, drug-free ways of managing PMS and period pain. 🌿🚫💊 How else can neuroscience create meaningful change in women’s health?
