It's been quite a journey navigating through recent transformative and positive experiences from working on ground breaking work to celebrating 3 years at LinkedIn and starting a new role leading AI data storytelling. While change is inevitable leaning in and embracing a growth mindset is what has allowed me to be at the forefront of exciting, unique and amazing opportunities. 🌟 Transformative Work: When you find work that's both fun and challenging that's when magic happens. Being part of the team who launched 4th Annual Work Trend Index from Microsoft & LinkedIn checked all of my professionals boxes and the opportunity to contribute to such impactful work was truly a fun and fulfilling challenge. 🎉 3 Years and Counting: Celebrating 3 years at LinkedIn has been a moment of reflection. Despite my non-linear path into tech, the common thread has been the invaluable connections and relationships that have guided me along the way. 🚀 My Next (Internal) Play: AI is reshaping our work landscape, paving the way for new opportunities. For me, what began as additional responsibilities during a flex assignment in July 2023 has evolved into my new daily role in helping drive LinkedIn's AI data storytelling. Grateful to those who saw this path for me before I did.

Imagine if Google, YouTube, and Wikipedia had a baby. Now picture that "baby" as more than just another knowledge hub. Instead, it's a place where people from all over the world come together to share their best knowledge—real solutions, lessons learned, and breakthrough ideas. This is a place where the chatting isn't casual; it’s real-time collaboration that’s helping people grow faster, solve bigger problems, and spark innovation across every industry. 🌎💡 That’s the power of knowledge-sharing communities. They’re transforming how we work, learn, and connect, helping us gain insights in days that would otherwise take years. The magic lies not only in the wealth of expertise but in the way these spaces encourage collaboration. Members build on each other’s ideas, refine solutions, and explore new possibilities. Here’s what I mean: 🔹 Professional Networks – Think of platforms where healthcare workers, engineers, and legal experts exchange knowledge instantly. It’s like having a global think tank at your fingertips. During the pandemic, for example, medical professionals shared real-time treatment insights online, which helped spread life-saving knowledge faster than ever before. Imagine how quickly you could grow if you had that kind of network! 🔹 Academic & Research Communities – These aren’t just for professors; researchers across every field connect here to share findings, offer feedback, and push their work forward. Platforms that democratize knowledge are turning traditional research on its head, giving everyone access to cutting-edge insights and even speeding up breakthroughs that affect our daily lives. 🔹 Skill-Based Communities – Imagine a global classroom where you can get your questions answered, receive mentorship, and collaborate on projects, whether you’re learning to code, writing a novel, or mastering photography. In communities like these, feedback isn’t just a perk; it’s the foundation of growth. The Benefits of Knowledge Communities? 🌟 🌍 Global Access 📈 Professional Growth 💡 Resource Efficiency But here’s the catch. 🤔 Not all knowledge-sharing spaces are built equally. The real value lies in communities that actively moderate content, keep standards high, and ensure quality. How to Thrive in Knowledge Communities 🌐 1. Find Quality Spaces 2. Engage Actively 3. Stay Curious and Open Knowledge collaboration is redefining what it means to learn, connect, and grow. It’s no longer about working in isolation; it’s about harnessing collective brainpower to solve real problems and spark change. Imagine what you could achieve with that kind of support system behind you. Are You in a Knowledge-Sharing Community? 🌐 Already part of a group, or looking to join one? Drop a comment below; let’s share our favourite communities and ideas! 🔥👇 Alfred Sofela #KnowledgeCollaboration #ProfessionalDevelopment #CommunityPower #OnlineCommunities #KindredGlobalInitiative #AlfredSofela

Thank you Danielle Murray Aswin Sridhar and Aakanksha Agrawal for the opportunity to take part in the Career panel and to share my thoughts on my most favorite topic: Career Development! It was a true pleasure to share the stage with our inspiring leader Ruth Mc Entee and Carl Simpson, and to learn more about their career journeys. To me, a career is about focusing on your strengths, enhancing your skills, broadening your network, and pursuing what you genuinely love. We are in control of this journey, which means we have the power to choose the path we follow. #careerjourney #Google
"What advice would you give your younger self?" 🤔 That's one question I loved exploring most while prepping for our fireside chat on building intentional careers. It's so easy to get caught up in the daily grind and lose sight of our "Ikigai" – our reason for being. Huge thanks to our incredible leaders (Ruth Mc Entee, Desislava N. and Danielle Murray) and panelist (Carl Simpson) for reminding us to prioritize what truly matters! #intentionalcareers #ikigai #purpose #lifeatgoogle Google

So far this year, I've met with about 39 different institutions to discuss the various enrollment challenges they want to address. Some challenges are massive, some much smaller, but they occur over the course of the entire enrollment funnel. There are many approaches and solutions that can be applied to help them address the challenges. And of course, that means there are MANY different products to help them along the way. But how do they work through the muck of options to find the BEST fit solutions? Well, Lauren Arimoto and I want to help address that. On June 5, we are bringing together a set of tools to demo - products with solutions for problems across the full entire funnel. These are solutions we and our clients have raved about over the past year. Douglas A.J. Carlson and his colleagues will be showing their new product, FloStack that changes the prospective student experience from the point of inquiry submission. Ronan Wall and his colleagues at Dosen have a new way to build community for prospective students to help them engage and build rapport and connection with other prospects and your institution. My colleague, Holly LaRocque will be showing some new ways we are leveraging #chatbots with one of the major #CRM platforms, Salesforce. Geoff Baird and Teege Mettille will be showing how #AI helps admissions teams know which prospects to target at any given day or time with their product, enroll ml. And our friend, Maurice Simpkins is going to show how his S.A.F.E. product attacks everyone's problem - fraudulent apps and inquiries. (Now, don't you pretend that's not a problem on your campus!) Don't you want an opportunity to see good products and avoid the high pressure and/or awkward sales follow-up? We are taking care of all of that. If you like any of the products (or all of them!), we will help get you and your colleagues connected, making the process simpler. DISCLAIMER - Kennedy & Company Education Strategies receives NO compensation for this. These are NOT paid sponsorships. These are products we think impact enrollment, and we want our friends and colleagues to have an opportunity to see them. Now, do you want in? We have about 15 guest spots available. Ping me for a link. #admissions #emchat #enrollmentmanagement #highered #AI

😊🤖 Eugene Garla, our VP of #Platform, just dropped some real talk about the IT job market! He joined Veaceslav Cerneavschii from Yopeso for a webinar with 70 aspiring tech pros, touching on both challenges and the bright spots. Key takeaways from the webinar: 1. The IT world is changing fast. Remote work, smaller teams, a demand for full-stack roles, and AI taking over some tasks. For those just starting out, it can feel overwhelming. 2. It's not always easy to break in. Fewer entry-level jobs, more competition, and a steep learning curve can make it tough. 3. But there are upsides too: You can develop broader skills, adapt quickly, and even become a specialist early on, taking on more meaningful work right from the start. 4. Resilience and adaptability are key: The ability to embrace change, think outside the box, and find your niche will help you stand out. What do you think—are these challenges motivating or discouraging? Drop a comment below! #ITCareer #TechIndustry #FutureOfWork

It's because of people like these and companies/management promoting the loud culture, that we have Areoplanes crashing due to faulty softwares, emergency doors being ripped in mid flight, AI tools giving biased and faulty results and companies embarrassing themselves because someone was promoted based on loud work and not hard work. it's high time for companies to introspect and take corrective action. https://lnkd.in/gPWzpJjg
I got a $40K raise using this 30-second strategy. It made me realize loud work, not hard work, always wins.
