There's a societal shift happening in employee benefits. The movement is away from a defined company benefit to a defined contribution. Businesses are no longer responsible for (or the gatekeepers of) health insurance for employees. This is just like the movement from Pensions -> 401k programs. But what will it take to bring ICHRA-style programs mainstream? Technology is part of it, and we at Savii are doing all we can to bring affordable, easy to use ICHRA benefits to companies. But there's also the social norm that has to be challenged. And I believe this will come from the bottom up...employees will start demanding to own their insurance policies.
