J: Jargon Practitioners in other sectors may agree to disagree, but I am convinced that in the Education sector, there is more jargon and acronyms than in any other sector! For someone new to the teaching profession, it can be quite overwhelming, but my advice is to note each one as you go along and soon you too will use abbreviations, acronyms and jargon in your daily ‘work speak.’ A useful Glossary with over 400 acronyms that I have comes across in the past 20 years since I qualified as a teacher can be found in the book.
