Yesterday was the CSM University Fair! With 31 amazing universities in attendance, students had the chance to explore endless possibilities and discover their future academic paths. At CSM, the aim of our University and Career Counselling program is to provide a comprehensive preparation and knowledge base for students and families, enabling them to make informed decisions about their post secondary education. Participation at events such as our University Fair, encourages students to discover different global university destinations and options, so they can find the best fit university or post secondary option for them. A big thank you to all the universities who joined us and to our students for their enthusiasm and curiosity! We can’t wait to see where your educational journey takes you.

My 17 year old cousin, who will be giving his 12th class boards in the coming week, doesn't know what to do after school. I faced the same issue . And and it's likely that others have faced it too. Some people know what they want to do by the age of 15, while others may still be unsure even at 27. It's not due to the lack of passion or skill but because we are not aware about the opportunities that the world offers us. In school, we were exposed to three streams: Science, Commerce, and Arts. Then were expected to become doctors, engineers, CA, CS, teachers Beyond these we had no idea of the other career paths available 😥 Schools and colleges do not provide guidance on what to pursue in life. It's up to students to independently research, analyse themselves, seek career counselling, and gradually understand what they want to pursue. If an individual focus on analysing themselves and exploring rather than just relying on textbooks, they can eventually figure out their career paths. What are your views on it?

If you are joining any B-School this year, then read below- Are you confused about which committee to join in B-School? As a B-School graduate, I feel Placement committee should be your top choice. Let me tell you why? -Extreme power, more than the faculties of B-school. -Multiple job offers, nothing supersedes that. -People will treat you like King/Queen of B-School irrespective of them clearly knowing that you know shit. -Fake friends for 2 years who will help you do all your assignments, go out with you in the pretext of getting shortlists and getting placed. Our placecom utilised this point to the fullest and did not help their friends get placed. -No CGPA would be downgraded for any placecomer because they are always on duty. -No one will ever disrespect you or crack jokes on you because you are the placecomer. -Face of college, misleading students who join colleges with high placements. -Threatening students with the context of revoking job offers, in which placement committee just facilitated but never cracked that interview for you. -You do not have to worry about getting batch placed, your only job is to get multiple job offers and cite slow economic conditions as to why you are not being placed. All the points are from my personal college experiences. And for the longest time, I used to get threatened by the so called placement committee for anything I wrote on LinkedIn. I am waiting for them to get back at me this time. With love, Anmol❤️
