On #WorldHealthDay, we stand in solidarity to champion the fundamental right of health for all. The 2024 theme "My health, my right," resonates as we advocate for access to quality, patient-centered care for those battling brain cancer. Just as the GBM Bill of Rights emphasizes the importance of quality care and informed choices, we join the call for quality healthcare services, education, and resources regardless of individual circumstance. https://ow.ly/RE1950R8to6

Know your nuts! Early detection can save lives. It's Men's Health Week this week from 10th-16th June, and we felt encouraged to talk all things men's health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer which are often stigmatised... Earlier this year, after King Charles announced his own problems with an enlarged prostate, there were 16,410 visits to the relevant National Health Service website page compared to 1,414 visits the previous day. This goes to show the difference that honest sharing can make. Despite its prevalence, many men neglect routine screenings, often due to fear, misinformation, or simply lack of awareness. Understanding the importance of regular prostate cancer screenings and checking yourself regularly for testicular cancer can make a significant difference in outcomes and quality of life. We will be encouraging our male team members at Right Directions and their partners to know the nuts and bits! Both the Men's Health Forum and Movember's websites have some brilliant guidance and support to help get started: https://lnkd.in/gJMiBE6 https://lnkd.in/eD4k2Gs6 Let's talk men's bits and everything else about their health! #menshealthweek #earlydetection #breakthestigma #qualitysupportinsafehands

While we live in a time of inspiring medical advancements in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, many people who seek cancer care hit barriers at every turn. Income, education, geographical location and discrimination, are just a few of the factors that negatively affect care. Let us use days like today to making sure our leaders know that we demand a commitment to prioritizing cancer and closing the care gap. We demand their help to eliminate health inequalities by addressing the root causes and ensuring that everyone has access to quality health services when they need them. May we continue to raise awareness and mostly encourage prevention, early detection and treatment advancements so we can live to see a world without cancer. #WorldCancerDay
