Anybody seen Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday? We're coming to the end of men's health awareness week. This year the initiative places emphasis on prostate health. "On the day after his announcement (King Charles), there were 16,410 visits to the relevant National Health Service website page compared with 1,414 visits the previous day. Prostate Cancer UK saw an almost doubling in the numbers of users of its online risk checker. This goes to show the difference that honest sharing can make" One of the areas I specialise in within the Health Coaching remit is cancer, and using health coaching methodologies to support people who have received a diagnosis. I've worked with 2 men in the last 12 months with prostate cancer so I know a lot about it from their personal perspectives. No two stories are the same. Let me tell you - they wish they had the reach of King Charles has in terms of raising awareness, encouraging conversations and removing stigma. So men, on behalf of my 2 clients - please familiarise yourselves as a top priority! Ask your colleagues, neighbours, family - "have you been checked? "Are you aware of the symptoms and that stats?". Employers and business owners, is this topic part of your health and well-being offering? Raising awareness, talks, panel discussions? I encourage you to add it, if it's not already. We're all responsible for raising awareness at our level. No need to be shy about it, just ask. Your ask may save the future course & direction of another persons life. We've all heard them before—cracking your fingers causes arthritis, antiperspirants lead to breast cancer, dirty toilet seats spread STDs, and coffee stunts your growth. Myths like these stick around, even though research has long debunked them. That's where health literacy comes in. It's not just about being able to read health information but really understanding it so you can make the best choices for your health. Whether it's figuring out how to follow a prescription or asking your doctor the right questions, being health-literate gives you the tools to take control of your well-being. Let's raise awareness; every little step helps build a healthier life! 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 A time to reflect on the importance of early detection and proactive health measures. I recently read an insightful article by CNA Lifestyle discussing the rise of early-onset breast cancer and the vital role of self-examinations and mammograms in catching it early. Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate by age, so it’s crucial for women, even younger ones, to stay informed and take preventive steps. Regular screenings can be life-changing, yet many still overlook this simple, life-saving action. If you’re a professional balancing a busy life, it’s easy to put health on the backburner. But investing time in your health today means securing your future. As a financial consultant, I’m committed to supporting women in protecting their health and future. Curious about how you can get a complimentary medical check-up and ensure you're covered for female illnesses? DM me "protection" to learn more and take that crucial step toward a healthier, worry-free life. #BreastCancerAwareness #PinkRibbon #Protection
