That’s not a knife… The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN’s accelerator complex is a mecca for particle physicists as they accelerate sub-atomic particles at near light speeds and smash them into each other. This interaction gives physicists a glimpse of what occurred moments after the big bang. It’s fascinating stuff and has taken nearly all of the 13.7 Billion years of the universe’s existence, although this is being challenged at the moment, for us to peer into and theorise about those earlier times. At JOST Australia we too, are proud to boast about our own technologies like KKS, but we don’t need the LHC to peer into our past as we still have people employed from way-back-when. Our longest serving employee, Stewart Lamb reaches a spectacular milestone this week in 30 years of service. In this age of job-hopping regularity, which many are now accustomed with, it’s a rarity to see a milestone such as this, and it’s one we truly cherish. Just to quantify this level of service. If we wrote a paragraph for each day of Stewy’s employment, we would create a book with about two and half thousand pages. That’s more than the Encyclopedia Britannica! Stewart’s role at JOST has varied considerably as he has played a key part in nearly all aspects of the business. He started out working in the warehouse in Sydney, assembly and production, fitting, internal sales, operations, purchasing and now finds himself as a key member of the Sydney sales team. There is very little that Stewy hasn’t done. Some of the projects that Stewy has played major roles in helping contribute to the ongoing success of JOST Australia are, helping JOST Adelaide start over 10 years ago, moving the Melbourne and Brisbane branches as the company grew, building a plethora of show stands for Australia’s premier truck shows, representing JOST Australia and New Zealand at global purchasing forums, spending time working abroad in Germany at head office, New Zealand and travelling to China. He has worked with customers and suppliers from all over the world, and is now heavily involved working with some of our most valued customers in Sales.
