This isn't exactly what anybody would expect as an improvement, and it is. The extension of the LGC's due date on annual audits (starting next year) is unfortunately necessary due to multiple factors, particularly the growing complexity of reporting requirements adopted by GASB and the limited availability of qualified staffing, both for local jurisdictions and accounting firms.

Nicely clever. And just clever enough.
