The Kautilya School of Public Policy (KSPP) at GITAM Deemed University , Hyderabad, and the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), Government of India, have entered into a formal knowledge partnership at the CBC office in New Delhi. This collaboration represents a significant step toward enhancing human resource management practices within the government and strengthening the capacity of India’s 25 million civil servants. The knowledge partnership was signed under the esteemed presence of Dr. R Balasubramaniam, Member (HR) of CBC, with Amb. Syed Akbaruddin, Dean of KSPP, and Shri Shyama Prasad Roy, Joint Secretary of CBC, serving as signatories. Ms. Ankita Singh, Deputy Secretary (CBC), and Dr Sharique Hassan Manazir (KSPP) acted as witness signatories. Candidates who appeared for the exams can check their results on the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in. Next Steps for Qualified Candidates Successful candidates from the preliminary examinations will advance to the next critical phase: the UPSC Civil Services (Main) Examination 2024, followed by the Interview or Personality Test round. The UPSC stated, “The candidature of these candidates is provisional. In accordance with the Rules of the Examination, all these candidates have to apply again in the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2024. The dates and important instructions for filling up of the DAF-I and its submission will be announced in due course on the website of the Commission.” Examination Details and Qualification Criteria The UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2024, held on June 16 across various exam centers nationwide, consisted of two objective-type papers (multiple-choice questions) with a maximum of 400 marks. To qualify for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, candidates needed to score a minimum of 33% in General Studies Paper-II and meet the total qualifying marks in General Studies Paper-I. Vacancies and Reservations The UPSC Civil Services 2024 examination aims to fill 1,056 vacancies across central government services and departments, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Guidance on Basic Course on Right to Information - 07/2022: In July 2022, we guided students on a Basic Course on Right to Information (RTI) offered by the Institute of Management in Government, an autonomous body under the Government of Kerala. This course is designed to help participants understand the RTI Act and its vital role in promoting transparency and accountability in governance. During our guidance session, we explained how RTI empowers citizens to access information and engage actively in the democratic process. We shared insights on the course structure and its practical applications, encouraging students to explore this valuable resource.
