“Self-determination can be realized if Indigenous communities have opportunities to grow own-source revenue and capital. Indigenous-led CDFI and financial institutions provide a key mechanism to achieve this. A key future challenge is how to create mechanisms that enable Indigenous communities and businesses to build scale and access private capital” - Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Read the full report on Linking Indigenous Communities with Regional Development: https://ow.ly/uYhN50QzebN #IndigenousProsperity #IndigenousEconomy #NACCA

My first UN intervention 🤓 (of many?) This week the UNHQ hosted a discussion to reflect on the #FfD4 Elements Paper, which sets the basis for a solid, inclusive and fair process towards the 4th Financing for Development Conference in Seville next year. I tried to make the case about the fundamental importance of #beneficialownership for sustainable development and domestic resource mobilisation. By strengthening domestic BO registers and international tax cooperation we can ensure proper taxation and prevent tax abuse 👊 .
Yesterday at the United Nations Financing for Development (#FfD) Conference preparatory meeting, our Senior Advocacy Manager Agustina De Luca presented on behalf of Open Ownership and the Civil Society FfD Mechanism. We are making the case that #BeneficialOwnership #transparency has cross-cutting importance to fully implementing the #SDGs and to supporting reform of the international financial architecture.
