Our non-profit clients continue to recognize the long term financial benefits of their on-site solar generation, whether they own it or prefer a PPA. On-site, distributed generation solar allows them to directly control their energy/operating costs, not just lower it. While so many utilities continue to outpace inflation in their tariff rates passed on to non-profit customers for all the reasons stated in this Bank of America study, on-site solar reverses that foreseeable trend, and empowers the non-profit to use their savings to further support their mission. https://lnkd.in/eemh4R9f

ICYM our news announced earlier this week: we are undertaking our first commercial product trial at National Highways’ test and development centre in Gloucestershire. Our energy storage system will boost the UK's electricity grid network and offer super-fast EV charging across all parts of the UK. In particular, our system will address the concerns of motorway service station operators about the lack of sufficient access to power from the grid to meet the increasing demand from EV drivers, and a situation likely to worsen if MW charging for electric HGVs becomes mainstream. News article from Fleet News. If you would like to support us on our commercialisation journey, our Crowdcube crowdfunding opened last week: please go to https://lnkd.in/e_HpyxmR (donʼt invest unless youʼre prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment and you are unlikely to be protected if something goes wrong) https://lnkd.in/eRDsbafv

Akaysha Energy Secures AU$650 Million Deal for Australia BESS Project 🌏🔋 Akaysha Energy has closed a massive AU$650 million deal to fund its new 1.6GWh+ Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in New South Wales' Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). This landmark deal, the single biggest financing for a standalone BESS project globally to date, underscores Akaysha's commitment to sustainable energy solutions. This project will play a crucial role in supporting Australia's transition towards a net-zero carbon future. Utilising Tesla's Megapack BESS technology and integrated by Consolidated Power, the project is set to commence commercial operations in 2026. The funding, with a three-year term, includes AU$75 million for project security obligations. Notably, banks from both domestic (including ANZ, CBA, Westpac) and international (BNP, CIBC, DBS, ING, etc.) have come together to support this transformative venture. As we continue to witness significant strides towards a greener future, it's exciting to see projects like Orana leading the charge. Akaysha Energy's innovative approach, such as the 200MW virtual battery offtake deal with EnergyAustralia, sets a new standard in the industry.
