✨ Wrapping up the year with immense gratitude and pride! This year has been one of growth, resilience, and rediscovery. After navigating the challenges brought on by COVID and the ups and downs of the job industry, I’m thrilled to say I’ve found my place with the incredible Swarm Rewards team. It’s an absolute privilege to work alongside such talented and forward-thinking individuals. A team that not only strives for excellence but also values innovation, collaboration, and the voices of every member. Here, my ideas are not just heard—they’re embraced and transformed into action. I’ll admit that sales aren’t always easy, especially for someone who used to shy away from phone calls. But when you believe wholeheartedly in your product, everything changes. Swarm Rewards Rowan Vlaming Carlyn O'Brien-Bester Gavin Gerrits has given me that confidence because I truly believe in what we’re building. As we look toward the new year, I couldn’t be more excited about the projects we’re ready to unveil. Here’s to pushing boundaries, setting new goals, and continuing to innovate. Wishing everyone a successful season, especially those in the retail and hospitality industries. Let’s take a moment to appreciate their hard work and dedication. While many of us enjoy time off, they are putting in the hours, often with few breaks, to keep everything running smoothly. Till we meet again in 2025—be safe, be vigilant, and most importantly, to those who get the chance to spend time with their families, happy holidays! #YearInReview #Gratitude #Innovation #Teamwork #SwarmRewards #HolidaySeason 💥 🤜 🤛

✨ As we begin to wrap up another year, it’s an opportunity for reflection – on where we’ve been, what we’ve achieved, and, most importantly, who we’ve been fortunate enough to share our journey with. ✨ The people we surround ourselves with – whether they’re colleagues, mentors, or partners – shape not only our professional lives but often our personal ones too. Even if you don’t have a traditional team, those you collaborate with can feel like one. Together, you support, encourage, and lift each other up. These are the people who cheer us on during big wins, motivate us through challenges, and keep us striving toward new growth. In recruitment, I’m reminded daily of the power of a strong team culture. When your workplace or support network is filled with people who bring out the best in each other, you’re not just building a team – you’re creating a foundation for success, resilience, and long-term growth. As we close the year, let’s celebrate those who have inspired us, challenged us to be better, and made the journey brighter. Whether you’re a leader fostering a positive environment, a team member bringing kindness to your peers, or someone collaborating with trusted partners, you’re shaping a network that helps everyone thrive. Here’s to an even brighter year ahead, surrounded by the right people who lift you up, help you grow, and make Mondays something to look forward to. 💎 🤝 💎 🤝 💎 At Miller Recruitment, we're passionate about connecting talented sales professionals with their dream jobs. Whether you're looking to grow your team or seeking a new opportunity, let's make it happen together. Reach out today and let's start this journey!

Christmas shopping... most people dread it, but I love it! My only problem? I end up buying two of everything because I just ‘have’ to keep one for myself🙈 Christmas is approaching fast and I know how easy it is to get caught up in the of mist shopping, gift wrapping and Christmas nights out🥂 Even though I absolutely love Christmas and everything that comes with it, this is usually when your career goals or recruitment needs often take a backseat. Last Friday was filled with big smiles! 🏌🎄 Competing in minigolf with these amazing colleagues made it impossible to be in a bad mood. Our Christmas Party at Unify Partners also marked a special milestone for me: my first year with UP. The saying “time flies when you’re in good company” couldn’t be more true. ✨ While Christmas and New Year might just be random dates, the time always prompts me to look back. Obviously, not everything ever goes as planned, but focusing on the positives and allowing myself to feel grateful brings me so much energy. So here it is! 🎉 Some of the milestones, we've reached in 2024, that fills me with pride are: - Defining our Core DNA as the foundation for future growth - Establishing our joint Strategy25 for sustainable growth - Enhancing our service offerings with talented people and expertise in AI & Analytics, ESG & sustainability, and Supply Chain Excellence (you know, who you are) - Professionalizing our ways of working, both in people processes and in our services to customers - All the initiatives on being a great place to work: engagement dialogues, team workshops, and not least social events - Achieving a stable and sustainable growth of approximately 20-25% with an amazing team Being part of a scale-up company is incredibly energizing, and I'm already looking forward to my next year. I hope you also find time to reflect, celebrate, and appreciate the milestones you and your team have achieved this year. ✨

The Difference Of A Year 11:50 pm on New Year's Eve was quite a stressful time for me most years. My former direct report and dear friend Travis Fox and I would be waiting by our phones for very last-minute approvals of our biggest annual contracts to get routed through myriad approval chains to the tippy top of the company. We needed to be more than ready for any very last-minute "what is this for?" questions that would be very understandable at a gigantic company being fiscally responsible. It was never anyone's fault that it would come down to the wire like that, and we started to expect it almost like a bad running joke. Flash forward 365 days from the last time I did that, and as part of my new job, I'm sitting in the scoreboard at Wrigley Field as an honorary double emergency backup goalie for the Chicago Blackhawks. Never in my wildest dreams... No matter what your goals, resolutions, and hopes for 2025 may be, please never give up on yourself and what is possible beyond whatever your wildest dreams regarding your career may be. If nothing else, I want to be living proof that if you grind your ass off on your own terms over long periods of time, the craziest things could happen. Because of that, I am incredibly excited to be a helpful part of your career growth and pursuit of happiness in 2025 as I continue to pay forward everything that I experienced and learned during my tenure in corporate America. We are all just getting started. Cheers and Happy New Year from the scoreboard in Wrigley Field.

🎊 One Year Anniversary at Morrison: Time flies when you’re scaling operations and slaying deadlines. Reflecting on my first year at MORRISON has been a wild ride of personal growth, teamwork, and just a little bit of imposter syndrome (let’s be honest—sometimes A LOT). From my first solo client call to submitting DOE proposals, I've learned what it means to grow, adapt, and excel under pressure. Taking on new challenges, learning from my incredible team, and asking, “How can this be better?” has defined my journey. (Cue the eye-rolls from the team 😅). Turns out, my Working Genius of Wonder and Discernment was spot-on: an innate drive to improve, streamline, and find the right solutions to move projects forward. 🚀 Highlights of My Year: 🎯 Secured $23MM in grants with an 81% success rate—what a journey! 🤝 Supported my teammates through tight deadlines, crazy schedules, and some intense team bonding experiences. 💡 Launched new processes and updated internal systems, all while navigating the steep learning curve of grant writing. 📝 Conquered major grants like ERME, DOE, and VAPG, sometimes even while balancing personal milestones (like getting married and buying a house!). 🤝 Embraced our culture of support, encouragement, and humility. I’m so grateful to my team for inspiring continuous improvement, creativity, and always bringing their A-game. Together, we've faced challenges, shared many laughs (and maybe a few tears), and transformed ideas into reality. Here's to many more wins, learning experiences, and making the world a better place through our work at Morrison! 🥂✨

Hello friends, scientists and communicators! Here is a little #mondaymotivation for you all. At CSIRO Publishing I run so many workshops and very frequently hear participants say "my English isn't good enough for academic writing" or "I'm not confident with my English." I have a confession: Despite teaching writing for a living, good spelling and grammar don't come easily to me and I've had to put in the practice. In fact the post I'm sharing comes from someone who was extremely patient with my early academic writing efforts and personally inspires me. Dr Michael Seery shares a mural from their workplace at the Centre for Academic Language and Develop at the University of Bristol: "Academic Language is no one's mother tongue". I would like to add that no one is born a good writer - there are just people that have had more practice at it! I hope this inspires you today to put aside your worries about being a "good writer", sit down and write for 15 minutes and practice writing some words on a page. Come back and edit them later. #academicwriting #scientificwriting #peerreviewed #motivation #writinghabits #science

And so this is Christmas. And what have we done? 🎶 For anyone in hospitality, the days between Christmas and New Year’s feel like a marathon. You’re tired, your body aches, but there’s no slowing down. 💪🏻 It’s a time to reflect on the journey so far and gear up for what’s next. At Be At One Russell Street, we didn’t have the easiest start to the year. Back in April, I returned from six months away—two months on hold and four months on sabbatical ☀️. In this industry, six months is enough time for everything to change, and it did. It wasn’t easy stepping back into the challenge, but that’s what I love about this job. With the right people around you, there’s no mountain you can’t climb 🧗. And this year, we climbed plenty. Here’s how I measure success in my role: 1️⃣ Our People 😎 Helping my team grow is what gets me out of bed every day. It’s not just about managing—it’s about mentoring. Here’s what we achieved this year: • 4 Bartender’s certifications • 1 Advanced Bartender’s sign off • 2 Master Bartender’s level up • 1 TCO (Training Coordinator) • 2 Assistant General Managers • 2nd Best Bartender of the Company 2️⃣ Our Guests 🥳 When you treat your staff well, your guests feel it. This year, we had the lowest incidents in four years, fewer negative reviews, and so many glowing comments from happy guests. Even when things didn’t go as planned, our team went the extra mile to ensure every guest had an unforgettable experience. 3️⃣ The Results 💰 When you take care of your people and your guests, the numbers follow. • Back in April, we were at the bottom, with the worst sales year on year of the brand • Fast forward to now: • 2 out of 3 weeks in growth vs. last year • Top 8 in sales across 40 locations since mid-November • The highest single-day sales since 2019—and personal records for Cal, Ashmita, s fabricio Nunez velez, Grace, Inna, Anna-Maria Goldswain, and me! I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved together 🥰 So, what have we done? We smashed it. We still have room to grow, but this Christmas, we’re celebrating a massive success🎄 Here’s to 2024—let’s keep climbing! 💪🏻
